Upstate NY has been in dire economic straits for about 20 years, and it is doubtful Hillary Clinton ( assuming she actually cared-which I doubt )would be able to do much to change that picture.

What little improvement there has been has come from big business/small business cooperation-for example, in Watkins Glen.

Government, a long time ago, decided political power could best be maintained by stroking the egos ( and pocketbooks )of big city residents. To finance this, State, County, and Local governments taxed business to the point where they shut down or re-located.

I used to visit the Finger Lakes region of NY ( where Mz Cohen is located ), but found the deterioration too disheartening to put up with.

Hillary Clinton will probably find plenty of votes there, but that's about it.

Upstate New York has been literally taxed to death by downstate for some time. I don't see a turnaround without secession from lower New York. The state government is run for the benefit of NYC and Lawn Guyland, with the latter getting a lot of pork during liberal Republican administrations.

Let's not forget to include Lawn Guyland when we attack what is (politically) wrong with New York. They always elected corrupt RINOs when I was a kid (remember Tom Gulotta?). In 2000, Nassau and Suffolk counties voted for GORE (although homeboy Loozio did win these counties). New Yorkers get the politicians they deserve.
