Racicot said he will keep his job with a Washington law firm, making him a lobbyist with an open door to the White House.

Let's put aside the ethical considerations of this for a moment. Don't you think that the RNC should have a fulltime chairman?

He's doing this as an unpaid volunteer? That's going beyond the call of duty.

Good choice. I know he'll do a much better job than Gilmore.

He's too liberal for me to get excited about. When I get mailings asking for money, I assure you Gilmore would have inspired me to give more than Racicot. I think I'll just give to individuals and not the GOP from now on.

"He has got a fine history of winning races and he'll translate that into practice come next fall, the 2002 races," Bush said

Except for the state of Montana, where he is the only person who can dethrone Baucus. Not a solid conservative, almost assures the loss of a winnable Senate seat, which all translates into the DemoRats holding onto the Senate, none of the excellant conservative judicial nominees get onto the bench, and Bush gone in 2004. Lovely!

Gilmore resigned Friday amid friction with the White House.

What friction was that?

Prepare for a Democrapic majority House of Representatives and Senate after November 2002.
Thank you Mark Racicot for your service to the liberal Democrapic Party.

If the DNC is pissed then he was a good pick. Remember, Reagan said if you did not piss anybody off you were not doing your job.

Marc Racicot. Yet another dissapointing pro-aborter pick by President Bush.

"I know that members of the Democratic Party would not stand for it," she said, though she acknowledged that DNC chiefs have lobbied in the past.

So....she's saying one set of rules for them, but not anyone else? The "me,me,me, but only for me" democrap party?

Racicot needs to change his tune and support school choice.
The socialist indoctrination centers need to be closed for the future of this country.
Until he changes his mind and supports it, I'll not support him.

I'm delighted with this. Racicot was amazing in Florida during the election fiasco. The man can articulate! The Republican Party needs this one itty-bitty talent (articulation) very, very badly! He's smart, former military, and an obvious get-the-job-done-type individual. We are going to be very glad that he is in charge. To me, he is kind of a Rumsfeld-type leader. Just wait and see; he will do good things for his party!

I'm proud. I grew up in Montana and my mother worked for Marc Racicot in the 1970 census.
