JimRob can't be expected to police every thread. But the rank, appalling racism of some comments made during the discussion of the Adams Mark lawsuit really is quite beyond the pale. Your thoughts?
This is the primary, if not the only reason the word is used so much. Unfortunately it often works. It can be used the other way though. My "neighbor" is totally racist (and fat & ugly too). She used to have loud parties ever warm weekend. Last July 4 I took the family fishing, she blocked my approach to my driveway with her car while having a party (note; this is the only time she ever parked there). When I asked her to "please move her car" she went on another racist tirade. I loudly pointed out her racism. Her "friends" started to drop away. Now she doesn't have parties anymore; not enough friends left !
All too often though, facts are ignored when the R word is invoked (look at the OJ trial). And just as often, certain groups are allowed to be totally racist or biased while others are banned from even commenting on other races or "lifestyles".
The words homo-phobe, bigot, racist, and intolerant get instant media attention and invoke fear in those they are used against. Yet, those who use these words are sheltered from a reciprocation.

Probably because of "the rank, appalling" racist behavior of some people and organizations "is quit beyond the pale". These organizations have been promoting and profiting from their racist practices and behavior for too long. This is just another example. No surprise that racism is the topic.
Disturbing book idea: Chicken Soup for the Chicken's Soul
In the South, most officials elected to county offices are DEMOCRATS
That in and of itself does not say much untill you consider the fact, FACT, that many of these elected officials are members of the KKK.
I was raised in a small town in Northern Arkansas about 70 miles from the mississippi. The closest black family was easily 50 miles away. All of the elected officials of that county were Democrats. That district is still held in congress by a Democrat. Arkansas has a senetor who came from that district. I knew who they were, they wanted me to join. I moved.
One of the Greatest falicies I have seen is this "Republicans are racist" trash. It simply is not true. I have not seen it.
One person posted above "Do you know why few blacks would be caught dead with a conservative?" The answer is shocking and simple. Because the conservative would not let them die.
The Democrats snapped the whip in the last election and proved nothing to the world exept that utilizing a single race in order to tilt a national election will not work.
I long for the day when people wake up and consider themselves... When they take a look in the mirror and realize... I am an American. I am an American of Scottish ancestry. I have friends who are American's of African Ancestry.
We are Americans First, now and allways.
May God Bless America!
How come blacks are never accused of racism? Is it just because it's so un-PC?
"I'm offended,
She's offended,
He's offended,
They're offended,
Wouldn't you like to be offended, too?"
Maybe past experience of the behavior of the participants?
The above statement it true. Only one thing was left out. Outright lies.
In my opinion the above words are what the extreme leftist, socialist and immoral use in an attempt to make the good and innocent appear guilty. This has become painfully obvious in the past decade or so.
(Sung to the tune of the old Dr. Pepper jingle):
"I'm offended,
She's offended,
He's offended,
They're offended,
Wouldn't you like to be offended, too?
LOL!!
Seriously, though, since the thread is gone, you can't see the items that refer to black people as animals, or flirt with using the N word.
Not all the comments by any means struck me as racist. But some surely were, as others here have admitted.
I think its inordinately obvious what some folks here are attempting to accomplish.
