I think Elton John's music was noteworthy simply because it was a part of the backdrop to such an interesting historical period. As far as his sexual orientation goes, I really don't care other than that was one less lady's man to compete with. As far as his politics goes - there's a reaon they were called "fools" during the Middle Ages - and it's the peoples' own fault for assigning importance to to the ramblings of mere entertainers.
