Yup - the first picture I ever saw of Bush returning a salute as our new President it was obvious - he knew how to salute. God bless him.

I THOUGHT I heard that remark just as they closed down the set. Great! I'm glad it wasn't just wishful thinking.

Definitely a moment to be bursting with pride. So wonderful to have a real HUMAN BEING for prez!

On Labor Day 2000, I was at a Bush speech at an historic home. There had to be at least 5000 people at the speech, but I was very fortunate to be in the very front. I had a new camera and I couldn't get it to work. I hadn't noticed that George W had come down to shake hands until he tapped me on the shoulder to shake my hand. I was so startled.

A month later I was at a rally with Laura, Lynn Cheney, Condi Rice and Barbara Bush. This time I had another new camera ( I couldn't figure out the first one) and I was taking a picture of Laura, but my flash wouldn't go off. She had a secret service agent come up to me and take my camera. Then Laura asked if she could get her picture taken with me and the Secret Service agent took the picture.

That's the kind of people they are. They don't look into a crowd, they look at the people.
