5,000 Freepers who care are needed now!
Donate to Free Republic ^ | 30 November 2001 | Grampa Dave

We need the stewardship of 5,000 Free Republic members to insure the continuation of the Free Republic Life Form!

Jim Robinson said in yesterday's post: "My projections are that our regular monthly expenses for next year will be running in the neighborhood of $22,000 per month, or approximately $264,000 total for the year. This means we will need to raise approximately $66,000 per quarter."

If 5,000 Free Republic members who believe in paying their own way and that no free lunch ever exists, pledge $5/month. Jim's goals and needs will be quickly surpassed!

5,000 good stewards of Free Republic pledging $5/month will total $75,000 per quarter. That would allow Jim/John a little breathing room!

Many of us donate more per month than that. So please don't reduce your donation. We just need 5,000 regular pledgers to make things easier for Jim.

Are there 5,000 good Stewards out there who can afford $5/month to keep alive the Free Republic Life Form?

One way to afford this is to cancel your subscription to your left wing fish wrap or bird cage liner. Donate half of that monthly cost to your favorite charity and the rest to Free Republic. If you do this, you remove your money from the enemies of America and invest it with the friends of America, Free Republic! That would be a double winner for America!

Become one of the 5,000 Freepers who believe that there is no Free Republic lunch and that only parasites want something for free! Sign up for $5/month on a monthly auto payment plan!

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

You will try to alleviate the boredom you feel by making something creative with twine. Fortunately, it will work, but you'll need a lot of twine.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

Say something completely ordinary, today, but follow it with "Get it?" and a big grin. For example, "I'm wearing shoes. Get it?" See who gets it. Avoid them.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Today you will discover a lot of money under your pillow! Unfortunately, it won't begin to cover the cost of the dentures that you will also discover a sudden need for.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

Things haven't been going well for you lately, and you're sinking into a fairly ugly bit of self-pity. You merely need to count your blessings! (1) You've got a tremendous talent, which some day may be in demand, (2) You're almost normal -- LOTS of people have extra appendages, (3)...

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

You will invent a new type of bath toy today. It will bring you fame and fortune, although it will also be the cause of an embarrassing appearance on the Letterman show.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Time heals all wounds, yes. But that's not really intended to mean that you should tie Time magazine around your sprained ankle. It's a figure of speech, you see, not meant to be taken literally. I have heard, however, that Newsweek is good for gout.

Libra (September 22 - October 22)

Late in the day today you will notice that people seem to be staring at your nose. Don't worry. It's probably nothing.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

Someone you've never met will come up and nudge you today. You don't have to stand for that, though, and you should just nudge them right back.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

To your vast embarrassment, you will be unable to describe the differences between halibut, sole, and flounder. It's easy to remember, though -- they are (in order) "big", "small", and "clumsy."

Capricorn (December 22 - January 20)

A man with a large machine will enter your house, and make you totally miserable.

Aquarius (January 21 - February 18)

Old Neil Diamond songs will circle endlessly in your mind today. I recommend screaming and pounding your head on the table.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

Today an ecologically-minded organic foods co-op will move into your home, while you're away. You'll be smelling whole-wheat fig bars for months, even if you succeed in extricating them. (Which is unlikely, in today's political climate. They need somewhere to hide. Have a heart.)

Welcome back.

Thanks for recycling my old thread "5,000 Freepers who care are needed now!"

Close to 4 years later, we have added a lot of monthly donors, but we need more to ensure a more powerful and effective Free Republic.

What a great and honest statement by you:

"I would feel guilty if I used this site as much as I do and didn't pay my way!!! "

"Paying monthly is easy!!"

Thanks for being a guilt free
monthly supporter of Free Republic.

I give $40 per month and I am happy to do it. All the learning, enjoyment and down right fun I get out of FR is worth more than that. Long live Free Republic.

Actually, for the FReepathon, that downtime yesterday was perfectly timed. If you made it over to FR2 at Yahoo Groups, there is a lot of painful suffering without FR1! You don't know what you've got till it's gone.

Thanks :~)

It's such a simple solution.

If everyone voluntarily paid their way none of us would have to worry about the future of Free Republic.

What else can you get for $5.00 or $10.00 per month that is of so much value & FUN?

A quarter is 2 bits...

4 bits is a dead kennedy...

Whose on a $1000 dollar bill?

A 4 x 4 isn't really 4 x 4.

What's all this mean?

I was gone for a little over a week with no internet access and didn't get back on line until this morning, so I missed the down time yesterday. And I certainly missed my FR time!
