We must also include Chuck Swindoll in these discussions. He bought a multimillion dollar oceanside mansion in California a few years back.

Not sure about Swindoll's California digs but do know he relocated to the DFW metroplex a few years ago and his home here is valued at far less than the millions ... it is rather modest for teleevangelists' standards.

Chuck Swindoll, if I am thinking of the right person, writes books, the income from which does NOT come from charitable donations. He earned his money and has a right to do with it as he pleases (I'm sure he is very generous with his money otherwise). On the other hand, Jan Crouch and her detestable hubby solicit 'love gifts' which
ostensibly go to Christian charity. Instead, they spend those GIFTS (not income) on their own selfish material desires. There can be no excusing their behavior.
By the same token, I once saw Benny Hinn (BE HEALED! he says as the people pass out on stage) driving near his office in Orange County, CA. He was driving a black jaguar convertible with the top down, his shirt was unbuttoned to his navel, and there was a young, beautiful blonde in the passenger seat. He's another one who is constantly begging for 'love gifts' to his 'ministry.

With Swindoll paid for his house with book royalties(I believe), he didn't ask other people give their all, so he could have an outrageous salary. Likewise I'm sure Pat Robertson lives pretty well because He came from a well off family. It's ok with me as long as the money given to the ministry goes to the ministry.

Chuck Swindoll takes no money from his radio ministry but he is a best selling author. I assume the money for his house came from the money he made with his books. By the way the house was in the mountains not the beach.
But since Swindoll has moved back to Texas, a few years ago, to become the President of the Dallas Theological Seminary I doubt he has much chance to enjoy this house.
