DITC Commentary: Ever wonder where all those "seed faith" dontations are going? Whose getting rich again? Remind me. It thought it was those people who sent in their seed faith donations who were going to get a "100 fold increase" and that they would be the ones buying luxury homes. What a shock to find out it doesn't work out that way! Duh!!!!
Televangelists JAN and PAUL CROUCH of the Costa Mesa-based Trinity Broadcasting Network have purchased a Newport Beach house for close to $5 million, Orange County Realtors say.

Not sure about Swindoll's California digs but do know he relocated to the DFW metroplex a few years ago and his home here is valued at far less than the millions ... it is rather modest for teleevangelists' standards.

Look at these two and tell me you're shocked to find out they are frauds. Talk about your T ammy Faye wannabees.

It is wrong for them to do this and they are going to have to answer to God. However, they sure have some good programs.

Maybe they intend to emulate the Toons' policy of having major contributors stay at the White House overnight in the Lincoln Bedroom. "All Platinum Club members will receive a three-day, two-night stay in the Manger Room. Accommodations include breakfast in bed served by the Magi."

He also made a lot of money writing books.

The price of their house is irrelevant.
The fact that they make Christianity out to be little more than an astrology type superstion is what damns them.
To: Psalm 73
"Christianity is a sham" No ... Christianity is cool.
TBN isn't about spreading the Gospel of Christ or saving the lost or carrying out the Great Commission. TBN is about being the industry leader in the religion business.

1 Timothy 6
- 9
- People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
- 10
- For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
- 11
- But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.

Would Jesus wear a Rolex on a television show?

TBN is about being the industry leader in the religion business. Exactly. Should Paul Crouch even be considered a televangelist? Businessman is a better word to describe him. In that context, I care about him having a big expensive mansion about as much as I care about Bill Gates owning one.

I'm an Christian myself but I could never stomach TBN with its over-the-top gold-gilded sets, weepy prayers and pleas for money, Jan Crouch's strange wig and makeup job, and the $1,500 suit-wearing, hair-sprayed evangelists periodically appearing. It's really a caricature of itself.
I wonder how Jesus would feel about a minister of the gospel pleading for money and then buying thousand-dollar suits and million dollar mansions?

How about this pic from their TBN website....or maybe it's them cutting the ribbon on their 5 million dollar home...(wonder if they will make the home party of their "ministry" so it goes off the property tax rolls?)
To: JoeMomma
5 million, lets see now........1 million social security checks donated by little old ladies and men who probably have very little to eat in their pantry.
MAN....I wouldn't want to be them on judgement day!!

Yes, she wears it to draw attention away from her garish makeup.Speaking of garish makeup, I saw Tammy Faye Baker taping a show at a local flea market (Tammy Faye just loves flea markets) a couple of years ago. All I can say is she looks much better on tv than in person. As unbelievable as it may seem, the tv cameras are very kind to her. Yuck!

I'm just
fine, MsK.
But many times more important is the question,
how are you?
Sure hope you had a good Thansgiving; ideally, shared with your folks & all others you love who could make it down?

I agree ... I would not want to be either Crouch on Judgement Day if they continue with this scam they are running.
While we criticize them, Christians should pray that they will change their greedy and blasphemous ways and follow the Lord.

Nah, the "religious right" Freepers are too busy cheering on those who violate the religious freedom of Muslims. They only get hot and bothered when somebody threatens *their* freedom dontchaya know.
