Well put Laz.... I am happy with the product here, and pay what I think is a fair price every month.
I pay because the site has value. I hope all who keep the site running are well paid, they deserve to be. They can spend it any way they like! I just don't care. Why others care is a mystery to me.

The costs of running Free Republic are what I've stated above and they are necessary to keep FR on the air. I'm sure some of the more IT-savvy Freepers can back this up. I'm not worried about it.

I think FR has improved dramatically over the past few months in several ways. One is that there is now more open discusions of controversial topics, and the moderators appear to be fair and even handed in their actions. Another improvement is all of the fine work that John has put in to updating FR. It IS better than the old format, as is plainly obvious.
Keep up the great work Jim, I salute you for all of your efforts.

Registered is not back. That post was from 11/28/01, when this thread was first started.
His suspension is over I believe, but he has not posted since July 26.
(not sure if you knew that or were making some sort of joke)

Jim, thanks for all your work in maintaining the forum. I'm a reader not a writer, so haven't posted much. Kinda like the kid who finally spoke at breakfast one morning, after being silent for a number of years, "Up to now everything has been ok."
Why not set up a monthly(annual) subscription plan?

Have you spent any time in the [LibertyPost] news forum, or have you just gone slumming in the "biker bar"?I visited both places and found Cal posting in the news forum trying to make inroads, however she ain't making no progress. She bad-mouthed FR to Hannity to the extent he felt justified in putting down FR on his radio show last week. Doesn't seem that the Keyes shirt is welcome over there, either.
