I may never see the final count, but please, please, please keep FR alive and well. This is a small bit of sanity in an otherwise crazy world!
To: Jim Robinson
I have contributed and I understand your reluctance not to make the financials public.
I just thought I would add that I do NOT mind if you DO get rich. I know you dont get rich off your website but I could care less if you did.
As you said, no one forces anyone to contribute so it is a moot point. I just figured I would throw my Capitalist two cents in... :D
To: VRWC_minion
we could all go back to work without having to constantly look over our shoulders. Are you insinuating that all the FR cubicle guys are going to start giving their employers a full days work for a full days pay?
Not me, buddy!

How can there be a problem with raising the
necessary funds? Last quarter's fund-raising objective
was quickly met, wasn't it?
Also, I began to feel hostile toward Free Republic
when posts I made were pulled for what I can only
believe is an extreme anti-Islam, anti-Arab bias on
the part of the moderators. Yes, we are at war, but not
with all Muslims and not with all Arabs.
To make it clear: I believe the genesis of the Palestinian
problem was the invasion of Palestine at the end of
World War II led by extreme Zionists. For some reason
it has become impermissible to express any view critical
of Zionism on Free Republic. Meanwhile, any kind of anti-Muslim hate propaganda is posted apparently without the
slightest fear of posts being removed.

A FR lives PING!
Scorpions, Deep Purple, and Dio live and rock on... pong.
They all wailed, hard. Deep Purple almost stole the show from the Scorps. Ian Paice has a few years on Klaus Meine and even Ronnie James Dio, but looked great. All three can still hit the highs.
Only disappointment: no Ritchie Blackmore.
Dio had the best shirt for guys, Purple for girls.

Please keep it Jim

To: rintense; Jim Robinson; BADJOE
Hi, Rintense! Thanks for the ping!
Jim< I say keep FR going!
BadJoe: I'l;l br writing that check soon as I can! Even sooner!
To: Jim Robinson
I support you Jim!
I can't believe it has come down to this. You are, in IMHO, the kind of person that has made America worth living in. You are straight, honest, and tough. We need more people like you, and we need this website.
The pond scum that want to shut you down and want you to go away are the kind of backwater vermin that creep out of the slime at night to leech off the goodness that makes us all free men. They live in blackness and evil and fear the light of truth that shines daily from this site.
Fight on Jim. It is worth the fight.

Change of plans... my brother went instead.
So I got her the Deep Purple t-shirt. Probably won't let her wear it until she can play "Smoke on the Water" on bass.
How close is your countdown for Sheryl Crow?
To: Sabertooth
5 days. I'm trying to convert my best friend into a Sheryl Crow fan. We have good seats, I just wish we were closer.

****There is ample room for a Liberty Post or a Lucianne.com. The more the merrier!****
UNLESS.......some decide to become disruptors. Or post threads like "Pray For My Bush" for the sole purpose of derision where anti-FR seems to be the only topic.
I traveled ALL over LP today (first time there)...I saw MANY on different threads that felt the need to post anti-freeper posts. And many that had to brag about how they had been to FR and posted XXXX.......or XXXX. I even saw entire posts from FR copied and posted on LP...for the purpose of ridicule. When was the last time you saw an LP thread posted on FR in it's entirety?
This is counter-productive to ALL isn't it? Isn't that a bit like turf wars.......or neighborhood gang wars?
Your statement is correct ONLY if respected by all parties. But as soon as some decide to 'visit'---OR---'register' for the sole purpose of disruption, then you are right back in a 'who's sandbox is better', childish, disruptive situation, no? And.......who benefits?
IMO.....ALL lose.
To: angelo
Hey, I'm not disagreeing that there's room for as many conservative sites as can make a go of it.
I clicked on three threads over there, in addition to one on the FR side.
All three started out with a comment or two about the article, (always negative), and then the threads degenerated into a, "I bet the people at TOS are swooning over this", "Yeah, them Bush butt kissers..."
A couple of other people will come in with an actual comment about the article and then more "TOS"/Bush bashing, and that's not on the FR forum.
Hey, if that's what they want, they can knock themselves out all day as far as I'm concerned. It just seems like a strange form of debate.
That said, I admit, my experience over there is limited. I'm not a Bush basher, therefore, I would be merely a disruptor. I'd rather not be, thank you very much.

Everybody has an opinion and they ALL stink...so what...
STAY...Thanks Y!
BR
SS
JR you should use your lack of smell to seek employment which rewards such godlike objectivity! LOL!
And I maintain that more etiquette enforcement is needed...IMHO...Tough guys don't wear clothespins on FR...I OTOH have to use a Surplus Israeli Gas mask almost nightly!
To: terilyn
See my #3554. SAME experience here.

Malcontents offer a funny reminder of the egos to which some people maintain.
Jim, Free Republic is needed as much, if not more, today as at its inception. You've provided the opportunity for multitudes to unite for common conservtive causes and have created a force du jour to the American society...and it's still growing! We can't thank you enough! For the first time conservatives can truly unite on a national activist level. You and Free Republic are
irreplaceable! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication. As always actions speak louder than words... Pay day is in 2 weeks, the check will be at your place soon thereafter.
Long live Free Republic !!
To: Jim Robinson
Keep the site going.
To: Jim Robinson
I want FR to stay. It's a terrific place to share news and to debate and argue. You do a great service to conservatism with this site, Jim Robinson. Thanks.
