Free Republic should stay. If it ever goes into a paid membership status I would join, not only because it is worth it, but it would keep the disruptors to a minimum, and the ones that would get banned, we could get a chuckle out of the fact that they basically paid to get banned.
I've been a moderator on others boards and know of the stress and drama that these dipsticks can create, to hell with them and the fact that they cannot compete with the Free Republic Forums, or apparently move on.
This IS A GREAT FORUM, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

They can conspire, and bitch and moan, and gripe and complain and report what "THEY ARE BEING TOLD" and all that other garbage..but they will never be able to get rid of FR....

Keep it up and keep it alive.
You wanna charge a fee--send me a bill and I'll pay.
Don't worry about the disruptors, we'll take care of them.
Can't stop it now, I'm just starting to get the hang of HTML
The VRWC has to have a home and this is it.
Where else can I write my letters to Lieberman and get them sent round the world?
November elections are coming and we need a place to rant.
2004 elections are coming after that and we need a place to savage the left
We don't have the Senate in our control yet
I want to say I told you so to all the Bush-bashers
I'll step up my contributions to help pay for the lavish life being lived by you all (sarcasm)

Keep it ? There's not a dimes worth of difference between a DU'er and a Freeper is there ?
To: Jim Robinson
Ironic isn't it. The AFers claim the problem with FR is the lack of freedom to debate. Everybody has to march in lock step. No room for competing ideas. Blah, blah, blah...
So I took a gander over at LP. Funny, there are about 20 people that spend all day agreeing with each other.
It's a real mutual admiration society over there.
I guess it's all a matter of how you define "debate".
If it's all the same to you, I'll stay right here.
To: Jim Robinson
Anti-freepers are people with no life but to wake in the morning check FR, cut and paste a post or two run back to LP and post it. LOL
LOSERS!

Free Republic shall never die!
To: Jim Robinson
We need this like Paul Revere needed the minutemen to warn if the British are coming. We cannot afford to lose this vital information link until the terrorists have been eradicated.
And even after the terrorist are all gone bye-bye, I'll still need my daily dose of FR. Not only is this a forum, but also an educator, a classroom, a knowledge builder, an international news provider. Those that are negative about FR and about you Jim, can go and take their place with Mohammad Atta and the rest of that sorry lot. Let them begone!!!! Scat!!! Vamoose!!!!
I am happy to donate what I can for I receive much.

If Liberals rode their people half as hard as conservatives ride theirs, our job would be done.
Since that is not the case....Yes, Free Republic is needed...desperately!

As I have told you before I am not an anti-freeper - though I agree with some of the criticisms of your occasionally censorous and xenophobic forum.
Though Mojo, Miggs, GalFromtheBay and an assortment of other conspiracy theory wackos post at Liberty Post it is unfair to tar everyone with the same brush. BobJ posts there (under several names), as does your son John and some other decent folks.
I fully expect you to zap this post in about five minutes flat. However, I am sure you will read it (and misunderstand it) nonetheless.
To: Jim Robinson
Well stated, Jim! Keep up the good work and ignore the litigious trolls under the bridge.

"Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour."

Success breeds envy. Take some satisfaction that you are a success, in that some feel the need to expend so much time and energy in trying to bring you down. However, the opinions of such are not worthy of much reflection.
The best thing to do is ignore detractors who you know have no basis for their complaints. When dealing with the general public, you are bound to run into such people.

"Jim has always said, and I always agreed, that America needed 100 Free Republics."
Well said.

Keep the ship Free Republic afloat with your steady hand at the helm, Jim. Those who wish to go overboard may do so with the full blessing the rest of us who wish to continue the cruise.

To: The Mother Country

Your post can stay, but you, dear one, will be banned again. How many times will this make it? My guess is more than 40 times. Are you keeping track?
To: JPJones
Very proud to be a tiny part of this website and the history it is making.Same here, but it is the only beginning.
The best is yet to come.
