Trucker bump!

Thanks for the bump. They do very good work. We hear stories here on FR from time to time about some of the reactions. I can't remember which school it was, but one of them had some students with priceless reactions. For everything else, you can donate by mastercard.

A newspaper is running a
public opinon poll on these trucks. So far it looks like the trucks are doing more damage to the prolife cause than good. Are you sure this Cunnigham is not fifth columnist?
The Poll results thus far:
Disgusting and inappropriate 73% (3058 votes)
I may not agree, but they have the right to free speech 2% (84 votes)
I may be against abortion, but this is too much 7% (295 votes)
Effective and needed 16% (696 votes)

This project only works with those who have a functioning conscience. Profound statement.

So far it looks like the trucks are doing more damage to the prolife cause than good. I disagree. I think the research behind this project is sound ... it IS next to impossible to get a fair shake from the mainstream media. All this group has done is create a new media -- a direct one. So what if it make people uncomfortable? They NEED to be uncomfortable.
As to the question of when life begins, consider this. At what point does DNA different from that of the contributors of the sperm and egg come into existence? There's your answer.

This project only works with those who have a functioning conscience. Based on the poll results cited above, shall we draw the conclusion that only one in four Californians have a 'functioning conscience'? Sounds about right...(the rest, I assume, are Freepers?) :-)

BTTT for the babies! And one courageous guy.
To: who knows what evil?
Possibly, although, in general, the abortion issue divides the nation about 50/50, -- and, I know, it IS California, but still, I doubt if it's a scientifically acurate poll. Probably reverse-freeped :-/

Evil that remains invisible quickly becomes tolerable. It's imperative that you make it real to people. Awesome. Thanks for the ping.

The poll is most specifically NOT an indication of the success of the campaign, as the article clearly points out.

They NEED to be uncomfortable Yes. I suppose that is the only Politically Correct response one could expect from from a anti-free choice person.
Don't you ever get tired of meddling in other peoples lives?

The poll is most specifically NOT an indication of the success of the campaign, as the article clearly points out. Silly me. I thought public opinion mattered.
This whole campaign is very much like the flag burners. The flag burners believe they are going to hurt loyal Americans by burning the flag. They believe they are striking a blow into our hearts. All they really accomplish is to get us pissed off. Pissed off at them and their cause.

Public opinion certainly matters. But not public opinion of the ad campaign. That was a large part of the article, that the problem with the efforts so far is that they were meant to be "nice". This is an attempt to disturb and shock, which they realize is going to make the campaign unpopular. The question is the effect on peoples opinion of the issue, not the campaign.

I know, it IS California The poll is on the internet. The internet is world wide. The poll URL has been displayed on over a half dozen web sites that I know of. People from all over America and probably the world are voting.
The country is divided 50/50 on the overall issue of Free-Choice. A closer look at the Gallop Poll shows that only 17% are in the no-abortions-ever catagory. Interestingly enough, the truck poll indicates that 17% feel the images are a good thing. The people that feel the images are a good thing are the same people who say no abortions ever. Everyone else does not like the idea of the images.
Not that it makes any difference. Cunnigham is going to get his rocks off no matter what.

Yes, I do understand that the images are designed to be a slap in the face. A slap in the face only works for people who are hysterical. Everyone else just gets pissed.
BTW: I like your handle. Old Slab Sides has always been my favorite.

Thanks, it was the first handgun I ever shot, at 11-12 years old. I got a Springfield last year from a pawn shop and after a new barrel, it works great.
I understand your point about a slap angering the non-hysterical, but I think the analogy they would use would be a slap to wake someone who has slept through the alarm.
