SAN FRANCISCO -- Perhaps it was an innocent mistake. Perhaps it was tenuous evidence of no good. One way or the other, the disclosure that lids to several ballot boxes were found floating near the Golden Gate Bridge last weekend has again placed this city's elections officials on the hot seat.

That's the defense the guy who shot councilman Harvey Milk used - too much high-sugar junk food made him crazy - to try and beat the murder rap.

The Constitution says you must own property to be eligible to vote.

Which Constitution would that be??

There's no need to think anything (nefarious) happened," said Tammy Haygood, the department director, who was appointed last summer.

See!!! Nothing to see here folks, move along, find a hooker, visit a bath house, support the economy, it was just a freak of nature...

Gosh, are the people in charge there Democrats or Republicans? The article doesn't say....

There's no media bias.... Remember when Newt was having his fabricated troubles in the House? Any snippet of news was on the radio every half hour for three days. No one could miss it.

Board President Tom Ammiano

I saw this clown about 10 years ago doing a stand-up comedy gig in Emeryville.

He sucked then.

Of course it is election fraud by the dems. But as usual, they will get away with it. Even though caught red handed, they don't care, the ends justify the means to them.

You must understand, there has been only one case of voter fraud in San Fagcisco...and it has been ongoing since 1848!

It's actually a pretty nice place-very good weather

I suppose, if you like to freeze your a$$ of in the middle of summer. (I lived just off Ocean Ave for a year)

a strong economy

Thanks to tourists from Europe who must read your "good weather" comment. Watching the Krauts freezing in their Leiderhozen is a good pastime at Pier 39.

lots of cultural events

Yeah, if you like parading preverts waving their sex toys around. Good influence on the little ones.

and history.

Yes, look around and behold the off-scouring of the Eastern cities, whores and nea'r-do-wells.

The local politics are really only a minor annoyance

Only when they formulate and invariably pass another silly Marxist-inspired foreign policy proclamation.

Try visiting sometime; you might like it.

When was the last time you walked up Market, say from Beale to City Hall, and your senses weren't assulted by scum and villany?

How could anyone consider politics that run to the left of Marx a minor annoyance. I am not sure when you moved out 25 miles (or in which direction), but even in my suburban Belmont, the watermelons (green on the outside, red on the inside) have all but ruined the town. They have made it exceedingly difficult for young families to add square footage to the typical cracker box 1940s - 50s houses built for returning GIs in pursuit of what the ex-mayor refered to as "picture postcard perfect" - e.g. highly restored cottages on disproportionately large lots, frozen in time.

In addition to all that, our leaders have tended to jump on the band wagon of every Marxist, PC or eco-wacko cause that they see. Plus they are corrupt - they city government leaders and city facilities and office help have been used to drive bond issues for a new library and a Green party push to lock down all new development. Sort of a conflict of interest, no?

Just like all pinkos everywhere in the world, the east coast radical carpetbaggers who dominate the political scene in SF, Oakland, SJ and the inner suburbs are no different than their corrupt, power hungry fellows in other locales that were taken over by the lefties since WWII.
