FReepers! I need emails to send to our troops with the Christmas presents that are being mailed out this week to the 101st AIRBORNE. We have 200 plus presents, but only about a third of them so far have a personal message to go with them to show the troops that we care about them and are grateful for their sacrifices for our country and for putting their lives on the line for our freedom.
PLEASE FReepMail me or send an email to my personal email (below) a Dear Soldier note for the Holidays! Do it today, so I can print them out and put them in the box tomorrow.
AND if anyone could also contribute toward purchasing one or more scarves, or contribute toward the postage, just FReepmail me for my snail mail address or use www.paypal.com and pay by credit card using my personal email address (below).
So far, ABOUT 1/3 of the 200 scarves are bought or pledged, and I would like to put someone else's name, not mine on at least some of the 130 scarves yet to be adopted and given to a serviceman pulling duty on Christmas at an observation post or wherever they may be now that the 101st Airborne has been moved. Guess where? In fact, the news is reporting our troops are landing near Kandahar now.

PS Excite@home went south leaving the Walsh family a bit in the lurch this holiday season so I won't be online as regularly for a while.
You can email me at jwalsh07@yahoo.com for the time being.
If they go over, I can put the excess toward the boxes of Christmas candy that I sent out last week, or send refund to you.
These FReepers are FANTASTIC!!
And there are lurkers in Missouri, Texas, and Florida that pitched into the pot, too!
We wish you and yours a Merry Christmas Doc.
Darn good job!
PS: Could you freepmail your address again?
I'll freepmail you when I actually get them sent.

.No, really. LOL
:-)
Pretty fast!!
And pretty nice of you! Thanks so much for picking up the slack.
I sent another check ($50 ... will actually go out Monday). If the current candy/postage/etc... is paid up, put it towards next time. (Or, since your own pocketbook has almost certainly been drained by misc expenses, buy an extra present for Mason... call it a present from my 4-year-old grandson, Davis.)
Thanks for all your hard work.

I did sent out a box of goodies to Mason, but they were all Star Wars toys, stickers, party goods, that I already had on hand, left over from a Fourth of July party I gave for my husband's grandson. He was most thrilled with a popup card that had a picture of Yoda training Luke on his back, and read "May the Force be with you......ALWAYS!"
However, I'm still not sure all the pledgers for the scarves will be able to make good on their good intentions, and I'm nowhere near recouping for the Christmas candy boxes as I didn't try to solicit for it, just did it. Your donation will be credited to one or the other.
I'm currently in the Christmas package wrapping and mailing business for my extended family, and just stuffed five stockings for a get together with my in-laws. And hubby put up the outside lights today and I hung a few bells and a lighted Rudolph in the front window.
I was wondering how to put something patriotic in the stockings of my liberal in-law, and sneakily decided on some "United We Stand" postage stamps.;-)
Yes, I know how often pledgers, despite all good intentions dont follow through its just so easy, once the pledge has been made, to put it out of mind, thinking ok, Ive done it then forget to do it (hiding face in embarrassment). Thats the reason I never make pledges any more I just dont say anything until I can or have sent the money.

What a great idea a gift anyone can use! I need several gifts for liberal "co-inlaws" that should be a remembrance, but not too expensive.
How are they packaged?
And thank you to the anonymous donor in Colorado.
My Wife and I wish you and your family a Very Merry Christmas, and God Bless you
Your Friend,
MJY
I wrote a FReeper name on the outside along with the amount, but I am afraid now that I have gotten you two confused while I've been sick with this bad cold, as you both were going to split the difference.
Please help me check if I wrote the FReeper name right, and one of you please claim L.N. as the launch point for your contribution.
OK Doc, thanks for the confirmation and thanks for thinking of the troops.
Merry Christmas.
