Log Cabin Republicans and National Stonewall Democrats Issue Joint Comment

(WASHINGTON, DC) In a display of bipartisan unity, the leading Republican and Democratic organizations in the gay and lesbian community have written a joint "public comment" to the Department of Justice (DOJ) concerning survivor benefits for those killed in the September 11th terrorist attacks.

"We at LCR and NSD are united in seeking to do all we can to console and assist those whose lives were forever changed by the losses suffered during the September 11th attack on our nation," wrote Rich Tafel, executive director of Log Cabin Republicans, and Chad Johnson, executive director of National Stonewall Democrats, in a letter to the DOJ Office of Management Programs, Civil Division.

Attorney General John Ashcroft issued a Notice of Inquiry and Advance Notice of Rulemaking seeking public comment on matters relating to the implementation of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001. The Fund, passed as part of the Air Transportation Safety and System Stabilization Act, allows for compensation for survivors of victims of the September 11th attacks.

Under the Act, the Attorney General will appoint a Special Master to administrate the Fund. DOJ will shortly promulgate regulations directing the scope and operations of the Office of the Special Master, which will include criteria for determining who is eligible for survivor benefits.

The Notice of Inquiry solicited public comments that advise the DOJ on how to direct the Special Master in administering the Fund. LCR and NSD issued a joint comment to address questions that affect the families of gay and lesbian victims of the terrorist attacks. Among other things, the comment directed the DOJ to examine the actions of New York Governor George Pataki relating to such matters. On October 11, Governor Pataki ordered the State of New York, when determining survivors for state fund purposes, to include factors that identified and included gay and lesbian partners and families.

"The issue of supporting all the families who were devastated by these attacks on America is so important that there should be no divisions between us," said Rich Tafel, executive director of Log Cabin Republicans. "We are a united community in support of our families in need, speaking with one voice in this joint action today."

"We are working together to ensure that the survivors of gay and lesbian partners aren't forgotten," said Chad Johnson, NSD Executive Director. "We urge the federal government to follow the lead of Governor Pataki to make sure that valid relationships of all kinds are recognized."

"Our goal is to be a resource for the Special Master in identifying legitimate survivors in a manner that transcends party politics," said Johnson. "We are first Americans, then partisans, and I can't imagine that anyone has even contemplated the party affiliation of any victim or survivor."

"By acting in unison, we hope to demonstrate that the questions we raise are concerns that surpass politics," said Tafel.

Nice try. You homosexual activist types seem to come up with a new clever angle every day. I've had this runaround with you before. If anyone disagrees with your Clintonite agenda of social engineering, suddenly they're a big bad 'homophobe'. Sorry, but most normal people don't support you effort to have flamboyent homosexuals in the military or mock marriages or all the rest. In America, you have the right to pursue whatever agenda you want, but just be honest about it. You team up with homosexual DemoRATS and suddenly it's 'bipartisanship' to 'support families of terror victims'. Give me a break. What you're supporting is the same old song and dance of setting the stage for homosexual marriage. After Sept 11th, you militant gay types suddenly hoped to silence any opposition by just saying "We're in a crisis, we can't afford to oppose anything like homosexual recruitment in schools, gay sex in the military, homosexual marriage rights, etc... We need to stand together". Sorry, but the American public isn't dumb enough to buy that. Once and for all admit that your so-called homophilic philosophy has the sole purpose of normalizing your lifestyle by acheiving special legislation for homosexual men who practice sodomy (or the AIDS lifestyle if you will). Be honest for once. Now go and file your complaint with Jim because someone dared disagree with your lifestyle choice.

To allow an institution of homosexual marriage in a monogamous form requires some sort of moralistic meandering to justify it and prohibit any form of polygamy. Upon what basis, if we are to assume it is discrimminatory to not allow homosexuals to "marry," can there be a prohibition of the varying forms of polygamy? Especially, since the First Amendment is specific in forbidding an establishment of religion in the law and is supposed to protect the people's right to assemble peaceably? The entire issue of "same-sex" marriage hinges upon the assumption that monogamy is the only form of marriage. I contend that it is based upon human biological reproduction and is outside of the government's authority to regulate in regard to the First Amendment...

"Note, he has named himself after a congressman who was vitriolically anti-gay"

Already been there, done that. It has been brought up before. IT'S MY NAME - DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT? Are you a homosexual rugby player just because you call yourself 'Ruggers' and post on any thread that exposes something negative about the gay lifestyle? Just curious.

Why do you patrol every thread and the second someone questions your lifestyle they suddenly get banned for being a 'homophobe'? Is it your utmost goal to pursue the normalization of sodomy as a lifestyle by attempting to numb the American public to what you do? Sorry, but most people still don't consider homosexual men sexually penetrating other men and boys to be "just another alternative lifestyle". How exactly do you expect to strengthen the Republican Party by trying to normalize a lifestyle that is at least unhealthy if not deadly? You defend homosexual militancy every chance you get and it's looking kind of freaky: What has happened to Free Republic

Uh... want to explain to us why you BUMP me when you post this drivel, if you ain't a troll, "Bobby?"

When did I ever bump you? It sounds like you are getting paranoid. In all seriousness I don't care what you do in private or what gender(s) you do it with, but when you homosexual militant types try to change our whole society by legitimizing some kind of mock marriage out of two males trying to impregnate each other, it surpasses any sense of decency. Why don't you try to fly that stuff over at DU where you came from? I have a feeling they would just love it.

And if they weren't "gay" they wouldn't have done it?

There are probably closet pedophiles donating to the families, too. Should they annouce their perversion publicly in the hope of gaining acceptance on account of the support they have provided?

The New Gay Motto: "I'm a real swell guy. If you will love me, you must love my perversion. After all, I am my perversion."

Why don't you two conduct your "pissing contest" somewhere else? What is it with newbies anyway?

By acting in unison, we hope to demonstrate that the questions we raise are concerns that surpass politics," said Tafel. What a clever ploy to build a concensus of acceptibility. Next they'll be having a 'national gay walk-old-ladies-accross-the-street day."

BINGO! Since when does ignoring morals and values become more important than honoring them? When this Tafel guy says that homosexual rights 'surpass politics' he sounds more and more like Bill Clinton.

"INFERIOR DESACRATORS, DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS UNITE TO SUPPORT FAMILIES OF TERROR VICTIMS"

You've got a point there.

I have a few stories at leavethekidsalone.com that usually end these kind of threads.
