'I'd Love To Change The World' -- good selection, good song.

You bet...don't know if it is really "conservative", but that whole album is killer, though.

Where is Alvin Lee these days?

hmmmmm.....I'd like to know. He sure played a very mean and very fast guitar.

And a bit more obscure... Randy Newman, from his 1972 album Sail Away:

POLITICAL SCIENCE

No one likes us-I don't know why
We may not be perfect, but heaven knows we try
But all around, even our old friends put us down
Let's drop the big one and see what happens

We give them money-but are they grateful?
No, they're spiteful and they're hateful
They don't respect us-so let's surprise them
We'll drop the big one and pulverize them

Asia's crowded and Europe's too old
Africa is far too hot
And Canada's too cold
And South America stole our name
Let's drop the big one
There'll be no one left to blame us

We'll save Australia
Don't wanna hurt no kangaroo
We'll build an All American amusement park there
They got surfin', too

BOOM goes London and BOOM Paree
More room for you and more room for me
And every city the whole world round
Will just be another American town
Oh, how peaceful it will be
We'll set everybody free
You'll wear a Japanese kimono
And there'll be Italian shoes for me

They all hate us anyhow
So let's drop the big one now
Let's drop the big one now

Big wheels keep on turning, Carry me home to see my kids. Singing songs about the southland. I miss ole bamy once again and I think it's a sin. Well, I heard Mister Young sing about her. Well, I heard ole Neil put her down. Well, I hope Neil Young will remember A southern man don't need him around anyhow. Sweet home Alabama Where the skies are so blue. Sweet home Alabama, Lord, I'm coming home to you.

In Birmingham they love the Gov'nor. Now we all did what we could do. Now Watergate does not bother me. Does your conscience bother you, tell the truth. Sweet home Alabama Where the skies are so blue. Sweet home Alabama, Lord, I'm coming home to you.

Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers And they've been known to pick a song or two. Lord, they get me off so much, They pick me up when I'm feeling blue, now how about you. Sweet home Alabama Where the skies are so blue. Sweet home Alabama, Lord, I'm coming home to you.

Wayward?

Perhaps Yankee Doodle isn't conservative but it certainly is patriotic.
Sure can put a lump in your throat.

And Alvin and the Chipmunks ALWAYS sucked. I don't think it was even THEM singing.

You have really burst my bubble. Please don't tell me they were lip-syncing. :-(

Now that is some conservative music. The Christmas album is the greatest.

"...Everywhere is freaks and fairies, fags and hairies -- tell me where is sanity..."

Barney Franks just might have had a problem with this part of the song.:-D

BTW, Lee was quick, wasn't he?
