I almost forgot, The Galactic Cowboys have one of the most ferocious pro-life songs ever "If I Were a Killer (I'd Hide Behind a Doctor's Door)." Fantastic song with an inescapable message. BTW, it ROCKS.

I like "Pink Houses" myself, although I've read that after Ronald Reagan heard it, liked it, and wanted to use it, he was told by someone that Mellencamp meant it as a mockery - that we have too much inequality, which is why some people live in "Pink Houses" - they don't know any better and/or can't afford any better - doesn't matter, once a song's released, it means what you want it to mean - case in point Dylan's "Masters of War" - I loved it the first time I heard it 'cause to me it isn't "antiwar", it's anti the human filth that trys to stir up wars so they can profit off them. Bob recently stated that that's correct, it's about war profiteering. FReegards

Yeah, a lot of heavy metal bands are actually quite conservative. And almost all country music is.

I particularly like Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried" and "Okie From Muskogee".

Love Child, by the Supremes. It even has the archaic word "shame".

Just in case it hasn't been mentioned:

Taxed to the Max, by Tower of Power.

'Nothing is easy, nothing good is free...' 'Nothing in pockets, nothing up my sleeve -- I keep my magic in my heart.'

Yep, Triumph's music is pretty conservative.

"I've Known No War" by The Who is a musical "thank-you" to British veterans for winning WW2 so the next generation could live in peace.

"Believe it or not, their music really helped me question a lot of the crap that our statist society attempted to inculcate in me and all other youth. "

Ditto! They helped me keep my head through some of the politics in the Marines as well. And since then I've never completed a software program of any substance without Boingo on the headset.

AC/DC's Burnin' Alive was obviously anti-Klinton(He'll inhale that smoke!), but I checked that song in a search engine. It was a protest to Waco.

I forgot about Scorpions. - "Don't Stop at the Top" (I'm a sucker for Rocky type songs about working hard and winning).

Yeah, he appears to feel sorry for the guy who's "got an interstate runnin' through his front yard/thinks he's got it so good." Mellencamp's "Small Town" is more conservative - not politically, but socially. It's about the joys of staying put where everybody knows you and "you can breathe." Huge here in the Hoosierland, of course, but being a nomad, I've never felt the emotional impact that others get from it.

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND. REVOLUTION BY THE BEATLES. The song talks about wanting to change the constitution, and wanting to do it BAD! It's disgusting.

OMG, I never knew AC/DC got so directly political! Figures they would trend conservative - can't picture them with the rockin' for the rainforest crowd :->. I'm more familiar with the Bon Scott era. I while have to look up this song.
