"Just read the 2nd Amendment. All the rest is Un-Constitutional."
.....................AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAWS should be consistantly ignored by those who understand the original intent of the 'founding fathers'. The citizens of this nation are allowed to 'bear arms' for the explicit purpose of limiting the power of government, every acquiesence to their unconstitutional demands furthers their bogus claims of authenticity.
At this time, the more unregistered weapons in this country the better.

Well you are almost right.
One TRUE story was in AR, when a state trooper had 17 torso hits with a 9 mm on a DUI dude. 2 head shots put him down.
That is 19 hits with a 9 mm.
This is a true story. I seen the tape and now the story teller, Mr Richard Davis who is owner of 2nd Chance vests.

"There is absolutely no doubt in my mind when the FBI finds out what you have just done, they will have no difficulty convincing the local federal U.S. attorney that you have been involved in "acts dangerous to human life."
You know this really sounds like an intimidation tactic. If this is what our government has placed as a priority then it is a perfect example of why the FBI is functioning as a threat to the U.S. Constitution.

Might as well pick up a 12 gauge pump while your at it.

What kind of ammunition are you using?
(I have a suspicion you may be expecting this old piece to handle more pressure than it was designed to take.)

Well, the laws of safety are worth repeating.
1. Treat every gun as if it were loaded. EVEN IF you unloaded it.
2. Be aware of where the muzzle of your gun is pointing at all times.
3. Never put your finger in the trigger guard until you are ready to fire.
As far as legislative laws,
gunlaws.com is a good start. And be sure to read my profile for the most important law of the gun. Basically, it's "When you carry concealed, you become one more faceless American in the crowd that a criminal has to worry about when he steps out of line."

Winclean, usually, though sometimes PMC, etc. Nothing exotic. From what I understand modern non-plus-P U.S. 9x19mm loadings are actually somewhat milder than the loads originally used in Lugers. If I were shooting +P loads I might expect problems, but I'm not.

Actually, given that Germans had the manufacturing skills necessary to produce them in large numbers, the Luger may have been a better pistol for the Germans than the 1911 may have been. But given the looser tolerances required in Browning's design, the 1911 may have been the better pistol for the Americans.

Actually, the complete and unabridged version is Col. Cooper's Four Rule of Gun Safety. To wit:
Col. Jeff Coopers* Rules for safe gunhandling
These four rules are immutable and ever present. They apply at all times and in all circumstances.
RULE 1
ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
The only exception to this occurs when one has a weapon in his hands and he has personally unloaded it for checking. As soon as he puts it down, Rule 1 applies again.
RULE 2
NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY
You may not wish to destroy it, but you must be clear in your mind that you are quite ready to if you let that muzzle cover the target. To allow a firearm to point at another human being is a deadly threat, and should always be treated as such.
RULE 3
KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER TIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
This we call the Golden Rule, because its violation is responsible for about 80 percent of the firearms disasters we read about.
RULE 4
BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET
You never shoot at anything until you have positively identified it. You never fire at a shadow, or a sound, or a suspected presence. You shoot only when you know absolutely what you are shooting at and what is beyond it.

Guns are far too emotional an issue to discuss rationally with about half the population. That might be better stated as:
"A small minority of the population are irrational hoplophones, with whom any discussion of Second Amendment-related issues is a waste of breath."
