A lot of military information is in the public domain. For example, Reserve and Guard call-ups are legitimate topics as these are public announcements. That's why the FR system of citing sources is a good one. All public domain information is readily identified.
By the way, did you know "Loose lips sink ships" was part of a propaganda campaign to put the blame for u-boat attacks on "loose lips" instead of abysmally bad coastal defense and ASW?
