Dadullah and Khan agreed to surrender their heavy weapons and all foreign fighters to the United Nations and said they were willing to let the international body appoint a neutral caretaker and governor for Konduz. The United Nations has not responded to the offer.

Hmmm, it seems to me that it's not the UN that is prosecuting the war.

So far, true. Giving these animals over to the UN (to live and fight another day) would be an open invitation for a repeat of Sept. 11. I trust our leaders know that. If not, they shouldn't be our leaders after the next election.
