Evil. They are vain enough to think they can redirect human nature and control outcomes by their very words. Just about two weeks ago, Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) said, on t.v. when refering to airline security,
"perception is reality"Just think about that and realize the depth of it. Take any event in the world, a picture of a plane going into a building for instance, and explain it any way you want to get those listening to you to reach your conclusion...that is an unprincipled exercise of power.

"I find that it is the libertarians here who have become the moslem apologists."
BULL!
SOME 'Libertarians' are extremely fearful of emergency Federal powers; most 'libertarians' strongly believe the chief function of government is to protect citizens from violence, and that the destruction of Al-Qaeda and its sponsors is a perfectly legitimate exercise of U.S. state power and will.
The libertarian impulse, or tradition, in American public life should be honored, not calumniated.
Not one libertarian I know is a 'moslem apologist'. My anecdotal evidence is at least as valid as yours.

I don't remember there ever being a Jewish prayer service in the White House. In any case, why is there any prayer service in the WH? He certainly doesn;t have to cater to the Muslims. The US would prosper without bowing to the Muslims. I cannot believe Bush is that naive, but I am shocked at the Secret Service. Have all these Imams been properly vetted? None of them have ever been at a demonstration calling for the death of the Great Satan? I cannot give an valid reason for the President's decision to honor Muslims. I'd like to see the day when one of these Muslims countries honored Judaism or Christianity (you'll know that hair grew on my palms).

I am not for deportations of citizens or mass roundups, but I do think we must be very vigilant.

Truth be told, my heart is with your position.
It's just that hearing otherwise lucid Muslims on Los Angeles-based talk radio shows
(Dennis Prager Show, Al Rantel Show) do a him-and-haw moral equivocation about the
terrorists acts on 9-11 has me really wonders "Why are these people in the country of
this 'Great Satan'?".
Alluding to the last two paragraphs of my previous post...I hope that as events
unfold in Afghanistan, Muslims here will realize how great this place is...and abandon
their moral equivalency thougth patterns.
(And I hope Dubya will pursue fairness for Muslims here, energy independence, and
keep up gentle but persistent pressure to solve the Palestinian problems.)

There can never be a solution to the Palestinian Arab problem because the 22 Arab Islamic step sisters will never allow a resolution. They consider the loss in the 1948 attack on the Jews as a stain upon Islamadom and the Palestinians must remove that stain with the blood of the Jews or by driving them into the sea. With all of the Arab wealth do you really think that the Palestinian Arabs had to live for 50 years without sewers? Do you think they couldn't have absorbed these people? They want them to be eternal refugees; it's penance for losing to the Jews.

I've had similar experiences and as a result have come to the same conclusions. There seems to be a basic inability for my Muslim friends to feel the kind of allegiance to this country that I do. As much as I hate to say it, as a result I don't think they belong here.

First, let me say that I'm sure there are immigrant Muslims out there with the
same sort of sentimental "Frank Capra Love Letter To America" feeling that I, you
and MILLIONS of native-born and immigrant Americans feel in their soul.
I should have told the "rest of the story" as I have heard these sort of folks on
talk radio here in Los Angeles...but they just seem to be SUBSTANTIALLY outnumbered
by their moral-equivalency brothers and sisters.
To speak my fears openly...so that others may comment...what worries me is
that even a very small, but influential, group of Muslims in the USA might try to
impose slowly...but inexorably try to impose some of the dictates of their conscience on
a larger US communities.
While this probably would fail miserably, I fear the conflict and strife.

I have no doubt that most or at least a large portion of US Muslims love the US, but I also believe that the radicals call the shots in their communities and intimidate anyone who strays. ]A lot like the mafia and the tongs.

And even today, our own White House is hosting a Muslim prayer service. This makes my skin crawl! Am I alone? In a word, "No!".
But then again, any Muslim prayer service makes my skin crawl.

"I no longer patronize the Muslim owned gas station/convenience store closest to me. I drive a bit further and now go to one owned by the Miller family. I think economic pressure would induce most of these "Muslims" to leave."
Good for you, every little thing we do helps. If more Americans did such a little thing as this we would be in better shape
