there are 20 auto lanes of traffic at the san ysidro border because there's a lot of business.
many americans live in mexico and cross to work in san diego.
many mexicans live in mexico and work in san diego.
people on both sides cross frequently to do business and shop.
not to mention tourism.
and then there's the large american retirement community in mexico.
border transactions are only going to increase.
what's not "fair" about it? I am not talking about the daily traffic across the border in border towns....I am talking about the ones who come across on a 3 day pass or a 7 day pass and end up in Kentucky and Colorado years later.....Personally, I have never met a Canadian who was not in the US legally....of the Mexicans I have met....I would say it is 70/30....with the 30% being legal. And I do not live in a border state.
and do these people have to get a visa to go across the border for one day? I am asking because I do not know. I used to live in Texas and in California but I have never had a desire to go to Mexico.
