It's true but I don't think it was Bush's decision. Don't forget Drudge doesn't like Bush.

Probably Robert...since he was AG. No biggie, IMHO.

A shocker if true. Not if it's named for JFK.

From Drudge:
"President Bush plans to issue an executive order early next week naming the Justice Department after the late Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, according to sources familiar with the matter.
ROLL CALL Editor Ed Henry is first to break the controversial development.
The timing of the bipartisan gesture, which is expected to occur Tuesday, could be tied to the war on terrorism. In recent weeks, current Attorney General John Ashcroft has said the war being waged by the Justice Department is very similar to the war against organized crime that Kennedy launched as attorney general in the 1960s.
"Kennedy, it is said, would arrest a mobster for spitting on the streets if it would help defeat organized crime," Ashcroft said in a recent speech. "In the war on terror, it is the policy of this Department of Justice to be equally aggressive."
Rep. Tim Roemer (D-Ind.) has introduced legislation in the last three Congresses pushing for the department to be named after Kennedy. While the bill has never picked up enough steam to be signed into law, the retiring Roemer has personally lobbied Bush twice in recent months to act on the matter. "

If true, then another liberal assed moved by Dubya. Why is he sucking up to Mexicans, commies, the socialists in the EU, and such, while dumping on Americans? What the Hell did Robert Kennedy do that was worth naming a department after him, and since when did we start naming departments after people? This best not be a true story.
To: TopDog2
What's the going rate for naming rights on cabinet-level departments?

How about former MTV VJ, Kennedy?
At least she's a Republican.

Baloney! The Kennedy's might have been Democrats--but JFK passed a big tax cut--and Bobby sure as heck took on the mob in a big way. It's the younger generations of Kennedys that are such liberal whackos.
I agree with this decision--I don't think GWB is sucking up to anybody--It's just a decision that makes sense, and if it promotes a bit of harmony--that's not a bad thing, either.

What is the point of this? It's stupid. I do NOT like it, but, of course, Drudge was so wrong about the recount story, who knows who it might be named after.

Id like to see the building named after Janet Reno. She's the most admirable AG this nation has ever had. We should sing praise. All together now....
