Jane Austen books/flicks portray women as strong and virtuous, not manipulative and winning the man of her dreams on her terms.

A&E's Pride and Prejudice is my favorite. It is long but so well worth the time. Great chick-flick!!

1. Casablanca
2. Guys and Dolls
3. As Good as it Gets (I know, I know, but I really liked the romantic sentiment in the movie.)

I agree with you, any of Jane Austin's works are tops. I loved Sense and Sensibilities.

Gone With the Wind will always be my very favorite though. No matter how many times I watch it, it still jerks tears out of me!
