Harry Potter is a piece of fiction. Nothing more. It is not portrayed by anyone as anything more than a piece of fiction.
I just can't see my faith being shaken by reading a piece of fiction, and I wonder why so many seem to think that faith could be shaken by reading a piece of fiction. That just seems strange to me.

Satan will make evil sound and look harmless to trick some folks onto an incorrect path. He will not trick everyone but only some.

Looking forward to seeing the movie with the kids. We'll see it and discuss it and have dinner afterwards. Something we're looking forward to.

My kids would gladly burn a Harry Potter movie just to play D&D with me for an extra hour. Aren't they sweet?

"I just can't see my faith being shaken by reading a piece of fiction..." Really well said... I agree. Why are people so threatened by this book/movie, it just amazes me. Keeping it in perspective seems to be lost on the book burning Potter-haters.

Before the world began an angle went bad About as bad as you can go Satan was an angle? I guess telling him "to get bent" won't do any good now will it?
Now excuse me...I have to go sacrifice a goat.

Before the world began an angle went bad About as bad as you can go. I hate it when angles go bad.

I particularly hate 12.5 degree angles...thems always bad.

thanks for the ping
I expect the pace to pick up on Potter threads this wknd as the movie opens.... one every 30 seconds should keep up with the demand!
(in the meantime...I think I'm going to see the movie on SUN )so I'll probably be traumatized and for a change my posts may seem confused! ha

Let's ban all things magical and hence, "santanistic".
Bewitched reruns.
I Dream of Jeanie reruns.
Scooby Do
Disney World. Remember, its the "magic" kingdom.
The list is endless.
Ya' know, it the poster had it's way, American would look an awful lot like Afganistan under the Taliban.

Can you give us some examples?

The Bible is fiction? Oh deary me, I think I missed the point.
To: Khepera
Can I ask you a couple of serious question?
Do you think the Bible is the direct word of G-d?
If the answer is yes, why did he have man write it?
I'm not baiting you, just trying to gain a little insight to your thoughts on this.
To: Hugh Akston
Thanks, Hugh.
I have absolutely no interest in the Harry Potter books, movie, dolls, games, whatever.
My wife and son, however, thouroughly enjoyed the books.
They're going to see the movie tomrrow (if I can get tickets this morning - yikes!).
I believe their Christian foundations are strong enough to withstand this latest fad.

Except that all the persecutors would be wearing crosses around their necks instead of cloths on their heads. Welcome to the inquisition again.

"The Bible is fiction? " How'd you do in reading comprehension ace? (hopefully you did better in woodshop)
Show me where I said that....
Potter is fiction and you need to think before you post.
