This is Bull $h!t!!!
The NTSB is LYING like rugs!!!
NTSB dude just claimed that .3 to .8 g's encountered during the wake encounter caused the Airbus to break up in flight...
Even a male reported asked "is this even possible".
"Isn't this normal bumping encountered when flying?"
Even the media don't believe them!!!!!

The tail fabric, a modern composite, failed. All the bolts are still attached, but the tail tore off. It had been involved in some questionable incident years ago and was not replaced. Apparently there was some delamination. In any case, I saw a photo of the bolts in place as well as a photo of the torn segment. This is a matter of sensitivity now because by most any standard, all airbuses should be grounded until a they find a way to truly substantiate what parts may be in such a condition. Not the best time to do this with all the 'war' etc going on, and not the best time to do this with airlines in Europe on the verge of going under. Dicey having a bunch of Americans in the position to pull the ticket on so many European companies.

I dont know. Im not an airplane expert. Im just judging by flights Ive been on in the past. It seems like 90-degrees in 1 mile is a very steep turn, considering the plane was probably going more than 200 mph.

Ever fly into Reagan National? You fly in along the Potomac and you see the runway out the windows to your right, and you think "How they gonna do that?" And by gum, they make that turn.

Aircraft separation measurement at ORD today.
I was stuck in traffic on Elmhurst Road today, at the end of runway 32Left. A united 747 went overhead. So since I was sitting there, I decided to time the separation. At exactly 1 minute 39 seconds, the next aircraft passed over the same spot (the road), on the same track. I think the 2 minute minimum is bunk.

Reminds me of what John Candy(as Del Griffith) says in Planes, Trains and Automobiles:
"And if they told you wolverines make good housepets, would you believe them?"

It's all a bunch of crap. If the NTSB tells the truth (likely sabotage) then the airlines will go out of business and the stock market will crash. It's really very simple (the truth always is).

Am 2200 hour Pilot, S/MEL, Comm/Inst. Agree with you on lateral rather than vertical G force... but .3/.8 on vert stab???? A good crosswind while taxiing would produce that....
My feeling that idiot FReeper from the conspiracy brigade is misreporting incident.

Ammo for the "accident scenario" apologists:
My kid used to be a ticket agent at ORD for American. She said with the flights to SJU and Santo Domingo, she was always astonished at how much "stuff" these folks tried to take back with them. This flight filled almost every seat. What was the gross weight of this flight? Could that be a factor?
To: Loopy
The posibility of this actually being an accident is not what most of the tinfoil commandos want to hear. Their minds are already made up so don't confuse them with facts...
The latest I have seen is that the grafite composite and alloy structure above the attach points (considered non-critical structure) has failed.
Nothing more, nothing less. A bomb would have caused a much different wreckage than what we are seeing, especially the vertical stabilizer.
Some form of separation has occured between the G-composite and the metal alloy conjoined with it.
The Airbus is a radical new design and they more than likely are beginning to show their weaknesses.
The vertical stabilizer failing caused the aircraft to become so unstable that the airframe literally shook itself apart. Another error is when the Copilot went to full power with both engines which compounded the problem.......

Gross Weight is absolutely a consideration. The more weight, the higher the load factor on all components of the airframe.
Most accidents are not caused by one single thing but a combination of several.
Some chain of events or mechanical factors are usually the cause.

Hail the Victors! I'm a Wolverine, went to school in Ann Arbor. My dad was from Dexter, and it's my second home(after Philadelphia)
However, I've always loved that line, and any comedy that involves wolverines. Remember that show with Sandy Duncan, the Hogans, where the sons kidnap the "mascot"(though Michigan hasn't had a Wolverine mascot)?? Hilarious.

Other than this post, do we have any RECORD of CURRENT NTSB person WORKING THIS CRASH saying that .3 -.8 G side load CAUSED vert. stab. to seperate? If so, where, when, did he say it and WERE IS IT RECORDED?.....because I can't find it anywhere else.... and there are a couple of BS meters working here.

many may beleive it and anyone that doesn't is just a right wing nutYeaahhh, that's the ticket! Somebody forgot to reattach the right wing nut.

Good grief! It's time to ground any Airbuses with composite stabs.
