A North Carolina woman is $2 million richer after winning a lawsuit against her husband's mistress. She sued under the state's alien of affection law. The woman testified that the other woman infiltrated her family and demanded retribution. The judge agreed. "Well, of course I think it takes two to tango," said Christine Cooper, the sued husband's girlfriend. Some legal experts have questioned the constitutionality of the law, calling it an opportunity to get revenge on a spouse. The ruling is the most money ever awarded under the law. News 2 at 4:30

And I would argue any "unit" that can be infiltrated in this way isn't so intact as it might seem. Of course she may have been wearing camouflage and sporting night goggles...
And in a store that has surveillance equipment and a security staff, then we should let shoplifters go free because they beat the system. After all, "it wasn't so intact as it might seem."
This is no different than shoplifting and should be a civil suit with damages awardable. In fact, this judge agreed with me.
There is no comparison between the two. In one case, a husband and wife negotiate the times and frequencies of sex. That is a legitimate part of marriage.
In the other, someone has stolen what isn't theirs. It is not different than shoplifting.
Interesting that you assign no responsibility to the errant husband in this case. I guess "men are weak"?
And I can assure you, no spouse in America readily agrees to NOT have sex any more. And I wasnt talking about only getting it a couple times a year, im talking about spouses who refuse to have sex ever. And trust me, it happens far more than you would ever guess.
No wife should have to put up with that, however.
Now, how bout them Americans? Kickin' taliwhackus keester in regurgistan, aren't they!!?? Figured I'd bring up something we agree on 'cause you seem like a decent person...I AGREE with your point about the guy being an integral part and he shouldn't be the only one who has to pay for screwing his wife and kids out of their economic security.
Personally, I don't need to consider whether I would share my wife with anyone else!! :)
Also, anybody who tries to mess with my wife will have lots of time to consider things from a hospital bed!
I can always count on you to get right to the root of the matter! LOL
I agree with you, too... let's start calling them what they are.
So many people are worried about hurting others' precious little feelings. It's sickening.
You are exactly right. And I'm a trained marriage and family therapist, so I've got thousands of counseling hours that agree with you. I'm amazed at the numbers who come in who've cut each other off over some silly pis_in' contest between the two of them.
But you miss my point. I wasn't talking about payback because of missed sex....I was talking about payback for FINANCIAL DISRUPTION. In alienating affection, the infiltrator usually causes a wife and kids to enter into poverty. There's a financial poverty that's a real danger BUT there's also a poverty of parental presence and child-rearing help that leads to children of divorce being more likely to live in poverty, have lower educational achievement, be more likely to become drug/alcohol abusers, be more like to engage in or be injured by physical/sexual/emotional abuse, and be more likely to have their marriages break up in divorce years after the fact.
With all of this baggage that these two are causing in the lives of this wife and kids, then NOT JUST the cheating husband should be required to pay. The cheating mistress should also be held accountable for disrupting the lives of others.
Which is why it and other idiot laws never get repealed. The vast majority of politicians are lawyers, and they are in the business of creating more laws to provide full-employment for themselves and their friends.
I'd be interested in knowing how many husbands have been awarded $2 million from male "infiltrators". Any stats?
