Robert Scheer appears in Ronald Radosh's recent memoir Commies, about his own red diaper youth. And David Horowitz has written some interesting revelations concerning Scheer, such as his infatuation with North Korea's Kim Il Sung.

Yup. The OC Register is also cage-liner material. But to be fair, its support for illegal immigration predates the feminists. The "libertarians" who preceded them were just as bad, and Orange County now reflects the end result of their idiot beliefs.

I had no idea. Thanks for that tip. Makes you wonder where the Times would find a guy like this. And once found, what would they consider his consituency to be? Who would side with even 5% of his views? It's as if profites were not the main issue, but propaganda was.

What we need is a decent newspaper. If Steve Forbes really wants to do something for us he can give us a decent newspaper. We haven't bought a newspaper in years. As for the LATimes I wouldn't even use it for my cat's litter box. It would contaminate it. Years ago we could have used it for fish wrap, but it's gotten so bad it smells worse than the fish!

I am not sure that newpapers are still relevant. I supsbribe to a local daily which covers local news and issues and parrots the national news I have already heard. I atopped reading the times when I worked for DWP and realized that the Times did not care about local issues.

That sums it up! LOL

You're right. Once a big conglomerate from Denver took over the Daily News, it went straight downhill - and quickly.

Isn't it fun to try to talk substance to a telemarketer who is probably sitting in some boiler room in Jersey, and couldn't get a message to the editorial department -- or even the circulation department, for that matter -- if (s)he wanted to? Oh, well. At least it makes ME feel better to say at least SOMETHING when one of them calls.
To: LantzALot
I have sometimes angered them because I tell them I am glad they returned my call. I then try to sell them an appartment building or commercial property until they can stand it no more.

Wish I had thought of that!

"Is there any chance that business will get SO bad that the L.A. Times will someday actually start printing JOURNALISM?" Ummm, nawwwwwwwwww...

That's why I have a computer and I am on the internet. That is also the reason why I have TV cable with Fox News Network. Until we have real journalists who do not editorialize their columns to suit their political persuasions we will not have objective news from newspapers.
To: jbemis
The LA Times is a lousy commie rag and has been for years.
To: jbemis
These liberal newspapers need to realize that a lot of people like me don't read their papers anymore. Most of what I read is online. Any company advertising in these newspapers is wasting their money.

Yes the Chicago Trib is next to fall completely. Its front section is for the most part drippy liberal human interest stories of victims of white (of course) racial predjudice and lingerie ads (the best part).

The LA Times sucks over all and also bought the Spanish paper La Opinion! (Any conflict of interest there?)
It is NOT a one newspaper town. There is the Orange County Register which kicks it's butt on a daily basis.

I wonder how much of the Times' recent plunge in circulation is due to Hugh Hewitt's surgical skewering of it.

That's why I don't subscribe to the L.A. times. They are not journalist. They are paid talking heads.
