The journey of a 1,000 steps . . .Begins with a four-clown pratfall in Leadville CO?
We'll see.
This is not the first time that Libertarians have had a working majority on a city council, said Crickenberger. That feat was accomplished in the late 1980s in Big Water, Utah.
You mean, libertarians don't still control Big Water UT? Imagine that.

Deadville, Co. is more than a thou. steps from the Whitehouse. You libs will never see those percentages in a national election unless you adopt dems. of S. Florida tactics.

Congratulations, Libertarians! It's always good to hear a smaller party stick it to the two parties of power.

Leadville for president! This is great news.

For some reason, this reminds me of the "Freak Power" ticket that supported one guy for Mayor of Aspen, CO...and then had Hunter S. Thomspon run for sheriff of Piktin County.

Leadville... hmm... excellent choice.
Already has plenty of pot plantations in the surrounding mountains.

Ugh - now they have no choice but to defund and disband the city council.

Leadville is a great town. A friend of mine just moved there and she loves it.
Very independant people. Beautiful scenery and great fishing.
To: DoSomethingAboutIt
Well, that is one city that will be on Cloud 9.

Libertarians have taken over the city of Leadville, Colorado. On November 6, local voters gave registered Libertarians a voting majority on the seven-member Leadville city council. Four council seats are now occupied by Libertarians.... Located just west of Denver, Leadville has the distinction of being America's highest incorporated city, at a perch of more than 10,000 feet. It has a population of about 2,800 residents."Top of the world, ma"!!
Or is it, "king of the mountain"?

God Help this city council. Hopefully their Libertarians are a little more patriotic, intellectual and respectful of America than many of those we find here infecting FR like flees on the back of a dog.

Somehow, I just got the visual of that cat-herding commercial in my head.

Specifically, Hill said she would like to cut back the activity of the local planning and zoning board --or abolish the board completely -- and stop spending money from city reserve funds.Well, there are enough illegal immigrants in Colorado, I suppose they won't mind chickens and other livestock wandering through the town square.
BTW, what about local streets and sidewalks?
Are they going to turn that over to the private sector and set-up toll booths on Main Street?
