At the NTSB press conference, they just stated that both engines appear to be intact and that there are no signs of engine failure, according to George Black, NTSB Boardmember.

Excellent analysis, just what I needed.

From the common sense outlook, one just has to ask himself "how the hell did that happen".

From the scientific outlook, you're asking the exact same question.

While we still don't have the all of the facts and I don't want to jump to conclusions, I can say with certainty that it was illogical and outright stupid for everyone (especially those who should have known better) to jump aboard the "mechanical failure" train so quickly.

I think if they intended to lie about this in the end,we wouldn't have heard what we did at the recent press briefing.

> engine dropped off its pylon and hit the tail.

Tail first. THEN engine.

I am not sure on conspiracy theories just yet. I do believe, however, that the engines separated at a very low altitude. I would also speculate, like many others here, that the stabilizer and rudder came off first. Given the two remarks of frame rattle, perhaps the rudder first, and then the stabilizer?

"So, where are all of the "wait and see, you conspiracy kooks" people from this mornings long thread? Hmmmm, it'll be interesting to see if any of them show up here."

Well, here I am. And I'm still saying wait and see. I have never said it wasn't terrorism- I said (paraphrase) "Accusing the NTSB, FBI, NAMBLA, and FedEx of lying when they say there is no evidence of terrorism at present is asinine- all they are saying is... slowly, for the "special" kids: Therrrrre Issssss Noooo Evvvvvidence. They are not, and were not saying there won't be evidence, merely that none has surfaced yet."

I really don't know what it will take to make the tin-foil brigade happy- first you're upset because you think your perspicacity and microtome-sharp intellects detect flaws in the engine failure scenario, and adduce any suggestion of this as evidence of a cover up. Then, when the NTSB says there does not appear to be any sign of engine failure, you leap upon them, sayin "A-Ha! Liars! Coverup!"

Their conclusions point in the direction yours do, i.e. it wasn't engine failure, and you claim this indicates obfuscation. Jesus Christ on a unicycle- What do you people want? What the hell will you do if they say it was terrorism? "Liars! Liars! They're trying to use a random accident as an excuse to clamp down on our liberties!"

Then, instead of the "Planes Don't Crash Into Queens" drivel we've seen offered as evidence of terrorism, we'll see some other decerebrate wonder claiming "Queens is The Bermuda Triangle of Air Travel." And yes, I would expect to see the metaphor mangled that badly.

Once again- I don't know what caused the crash- nobody on this forum, unless they personally planted a bomb/committed sabotage knows what caused the crash. We may have suspicions, we may have gut feelings, but we don't know

To suggest that some schmuck saying "there is no evidence" is prima facie evidence of a coverup is ludicrous.

And so is a lot of what I've seen presented as evidence for sabotage/bombing as well.

On a post here - someone posted a transcript of a radio interview of a boatman who said he saw the event and actually helped recover wreckage from the water. The boatman said he saw the tail parts come down and saw the plane invert then nosedive to the ground.

I've been thinking that the eye witnesses on the ground did not mention this, but if there is no tail it be more difficult in a few seconds to see that the plane was in fact upside down - especially if engines are detached from the plane.

I will give you a Hundred Dollars cash today for that old incomplete Mooney.

I am waiting for the govt shills to post the truth of crash.

_Jim will be along soon, with the new improved cargo door-center tank theory.

Strange flight to sabotage...one going to Dominican Republic. Doesn't fit terrorist m.o. Authorities better check for extraodinarily large life insurance policies.

Still waitin' for the results of investigation....

But, remember, even when the results are in, we can't believe them because this administration obviously lies. In fact, they have a long history of it - all 10 months of it.

Calm down...you're gonna get your cover up. Don't you know that whatever "they" tell us will be a lie anyway? That way you always get your coverup.
