Can't beat I Corinthians Chapter 13. Also I Corinthians Chapter 16 verses 13-14: "Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love." That sums it up for me!

My sister marched down the aisle to the congregation singing "Surely Goodness and Mercy Shall Follow Me" from the 23rd Psalm. It was great!

For what it's worth, we used I John 4:7-19 for ours. And best of luck with the wedding!

Another suggestion would be I John 4: 7-19. Have a wonderful wedding.

Phil 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Phil 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Phil 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Phil 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

If you want to get married and show support to our military at the same time, make sure to work in the Navy Hymn! This is the 4th verse:
O Trinity of love and power!
Our brethren shield in danger's hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe'er they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.
Good luck with the wedding!

Song of Solomon 8
6
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame.
7
Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.

I've always liked: Ecclesiastes: 3rd Chapter. All of it.
It may not be "just what you want" for a wedding...
But....
It pretty well describes our presence "on this earth"
And...
I find those words very comforting.
God Bless You J

My husband and I chose Psalm 127 and have been blessed by these words:
Blessed are them that fear the Lord; they shall walk in his ways.
For thou shalt eat the labors of thy hands; blessed art thou, and it shall be well with thee.
Thy wife as a fruitful vine on the sides of thy house.
Thy children as olive plants round about thy table.
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.
May the Lord bless thee out of Zion, and mayest thou see the good things of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.
And mayest thou see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.
I think this one is a particularly apt verse for today. God bless you in your marriage preparations!

If you'd like to step outside the Bible,
the Lebanese Poet Kahlil Gibran wrote in his book The Prophet:
You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days.
Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.
I wish you both a wonderful day....

How about Malachi 2:16: "For I hate Divorce, saith the Lord. So take heed to yourselves, and do not be faithless."

Romans 8:26 - In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

Ruth's beautiful reply to Naomi is, of course, the classic of devotional love:
Ruth 1:16&17 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.
Pray you have a wonderful wedding, which is only the beginning of a wonderful, blessed, and adventurous life together with your beloved.

We used the passage from Ruth that said, "Whither thou goest, I will go..." Big mistake. We have lived in ten different states. Be careful what you pick. :-)
