Conspiracies abound
Self | 11/12/2001 | Lawdude

After reading a few hundred posts on the FR forum today I can only say, FR has turned into a "Conspiracy Theory Haven". People have been posting the most OUTLANDISH comments with absolutely nothing to support them except that a "Government Spokesman" has denied them. I guess that denial is proof in the world of the cynic who is unable to look at information and sift fact from conjecture.

I don't know what caused the crash today. I know for certain I DON'T have enough factual information to even form a reasonable opinion. (Note: the key word is REASONABLE!)

I look at known, objective information which I believe most would accept as factual and add to that pile of info as it becomes available. So far, there is absolutely no, I say again, NO, evidence that the crash was anything but malfunction. Now, a person needs fact to whittle away at that supposition. What FACTS do we have to do so?

Darn little, if any. Let's look-

1) Crashed in Rockaway. Hmmm Normal takeoff route. But one of many.
2) Rockaway is home of Mike Moran. SO?
3) Some witnesses claim to have heard an explosion...Most do not!
4) This type of airplane is crashproof. BS. Not worthy of comment.
Add others and try to RATIONALLY draw conclusions based on FACT. Not some hypothetical desire to be the one that proves it was OBL beyond a reasonable doubt. You ain't gonna be a hero, chum.

Flame away tin hatters, I can take it. But until I see some viable arguments to prove a conspiracy/terrorist influence, I will believe that a mechanical malfunction was the cause for the loss of 255 + innocent lives.

It is utterly irrational to go jumping to conclusions about these incidents

Don't drink water from a stream because the government recently told us you can get inhalational anthrax that way.

Whoa! A conspiracy is a plot, shadowy, dark and usually with sinister implications. This is not a government conspiracy.

In case some of you forgot, we are at WAR!

And this is how the bad guys fight folks. I'm not saying this is a terroristic act against us, only to keep an open mind as to who we're dealing with.

You gotta admit, with the American Airlines redux and New York being victimized once again, suspecting terrorists is no further out than suspecting mechanical failure.

"... fat version of Shaggy from "Scooby Doo", Mike Gallagher. ..."

We just started getting him in Phoenix and after 2-3 days of his ranting, I turned to other entertainment. He is a complete jerk!

"...government has done nothing to promote our trust."

I agree but the facts coming out certainly do not support anything other than mechanical malfunction.

This hysterical jumping to conclusions within hours after the fact

Hours? Aren't you kind. Minutes is more like it.

Cute. And it means what? That the first sign of a disease is proof of terrorist action? That any airplance incident is terrorist related, and anyone that says wait for the facts is lying? Learn to think straight.

I believe that the US government will lie, if they are convienced that it is for the good of America. The airlines are in big trouble now as it is, and the government is having to bail them out as it is, and they do not need any more trouble.

I guess the words "Rivero" and "Michael" mean nothing to you.

LOL, where is old Michael these days?

This is a rather cheap, unfair, and rather incorrect shot at almost everything that has been posted today. There have been scads of actual information posted, and you make no one the fool here but yourself. Besides which, it was actually Rush Limbaugh that brought up that Rockaway was the home of Mike Moran. Granted, that is probably a real coincidence, but that is the only thing you mentioned here that is even close to your retelling of the truth of all that has been posted here today.
Not only that, but five will get you ten, we have educated ourselves far more than you suggest with your innuendo.
Beyond that, your condensation of all the actual facts which have been posted today are deliberately stated to insinuate that we look at everything THAT simplistically. Far as I am concerned, the more stupid you try to make us sound, the more irrelevant this *vanity* becomes.

"One thing I don't buy.."

I'm glad you made up your mind on that. I can rest now.

Maybe it was mechanical failure (sabatoge) or maybe someone just stepped on the "EJECT TAIL SECTION" button by mistake Images show AA Tail Section went first? Pulled from water

Everything that happens isn't an accident. Just like on Sept 11, those weren't 4 accidental plane crashes. We're under a terrorist attack and have been for some time now, even the government said to expect more very soon. It's more logical to assume it's not just some accident.

"That any airplance incident...."

Any airplane incident would have been Continental or Southwest Air having an accident in Minnesota or Pittsburgh.

This accident was with American Airlines and NYC, do you see even the remotest connection to Sept. 11 and the reason why speculation abounds?

I believe that the US government will lie,

Then again the government did come out just about a week ago and said that about the heightened security and the likelihood of more attacks but they didn't know when or where. So it's not all lies.

The fact is we could not trust the government during x42's reign. President Bush and his administration are not the criminals we had in the past, yet people insist they are out to destroy our country. When I started lurking in 98, there was so much reasonable debate that it took until the election for me to feel comfortable to debate back. The beauty of FR was the debate and recently it's turned into a cheesy name bashing party. That can be done without any reasonable thought.

LOL! I think Mike has gone just about nuts. He’s posting messages to himself on his own website. Every now and then, he gets so angry he bans himself for a few days!

Seems that Nazis, the CIA, Israeli Jews, and the Bush family are behind all this bad terrorist stuff, according to him.

If you, as you admit, don't know what caused today's crash, what makes you choose "accident" over "sabotage?"

Why do you jump to the conclusion that this was an accident?

There is what is called the s**t happens theory. Other Freepers have mentioned this today.

It is entirely possible that a catastrophic failure occured in the engine and/or structure.

For anyone to state that it MUST have been sabotage, terrorists, our own fighters, etc., is a bit irresponsible - don't you think?
