Why does Ari and government insist there has been no "unusual communication" between pilot and tower?

You have information from a "supposed" travel agent and from a supposed pilot on supposedly overheard another pilot, etc. Not reliable enough to put out as information.

Clearly, since federal employees are the answer to all of our airport security problems making the maintanence crew federal employees will prevent something like this from ever happening again.

I hope you can detect the sarcasm

Only fervent prayer works. People are fallible.

Maybe in government-think reporting problems is not "unusual." Or such communications aren't unusual in themselves. Looking at the airline execs at the recent congress committee meetings, I have no doubt they would rationalize most anything to squeeze out an extra dollar.

Lets make all travelers federal employees too!

So people who die in accidents or who are murdered just didn't pray hard enough?

Fair enough. But what about this: AA Flight 587 was scheduled to take off at 8:00 a.m. but was held on the ground for an hour and fifteen minutes to repair an unidentified mechanical problem . . .

It remains a fact the plane was over an hour late departing. Obviously, something was wrong with the plane before it took off. One would think that the plane, due to the "unidentified mechanical problem" would be watched a bit closer than it otherwise would.

The NTSB is famous for covering accidents for the major airlines

Bull. There is no such thing as perfect safety in engineering and there never will be. You arm chair experts have never had to design anything, let alone a flight system with lifeline components. So go back to your conspiracy cults and amuse yourselves.

It will be interesting to see what an investigation brings out.

I personally think we are headed toward and El-Al or European type airport/airline security where everything is x-rayed and everyone is screened and patted down.

Depends on how you look at it. Are they better off in heaven or here ?

OK, OK, we get it. (We got it after the millionth time this was posted).

Please, please, come up with a new "tin foil" line. It lost whatever little bit of humor it had 2 million posts ago. Get creative, anything, for something new.

You were blaming the administration for not putting out information you had seen elsewhere. I was only saying that they are wise not to put out information until they are sure it is accurate and pertinant. The information may be correct, yet it may not be.

I keep hearing about the tight "European Security." I flew into and out of Heathrow 4 times and into and out of Edinburgh just this past August. I noticed NO DIFFERENCE between the security in these airports and the security in American airports. NONE. And customs was as big of a joke there as it was here.

This on washingtonpost.com:

Plane Crashes Near Kennedy Airport

* * *

A law enforcement source at the scene told The Associated Press that the likelihood of a mechanical problem stemmed from the fact that flames were seen shooting out of the left engine and that witnesses reported the plane had difficulty climbing and was banking to the left.

And Fox just reported that the plane crashed within 4 minutes of take off.
