To: The Right Stuff
LOL I know that ferocious "woof" well. Translated to a "doggyism" it says, "I'm supposed to protect this house, but if you give me a cookie, I'll be your friend for life."

My 14 y/o just had surgery this week and they found some inoperative cancer ... wanted to amputate ... but I refused. He'll live out his days with me and his hunts will be limited to easy forays into the field, where his nose still beats the youngest hounds, flushing up his favorite chase, pheasant. First year he missed duck hunting. He knew he was being left out. Great dogs!

I have to take my 10 y/o greyhound in for an ultrasound today. I don't know what we'll find. I'm praying for him and for the guidance to make the right decision for him. I got him from the track when he flunked out of racing at the age of two. He's a big lovable baby that plays with my two little terriers like a gentle giant.
