I served my country as a military pilot for 14 years and was decorated for my efforts. Let me ask you, did you ever serve your country? I'm one of the most AMERICAN people you will ever meet. When I express an opinion on this or ANY forum about how I think someone should be handled or treated, it is just that, my opinion. If my extreme love for my country and patriotism happens to just pop out, then you will have to just lump it, if you don't like it. Don't attack me personally. That is what is un-American. That is what I expect from a bleeding heart liberal. You have numerous other venues available where you can comiserate with others of your ilk. This place is for the 'true patriots', I always reference in closing my statements. By the way, you haven't responded to my question about your guru Dersh%*twitz.

Feelings are just running high. It can also be very hard to comprehend why the enemy gets bombed when they're so far away they can't do us direct harm, and gets 3 meals a day at public expense and no torture to make them answer questions when they're on our soil. This is a very fundamental question, of course--does the enemy gain due process rights only because he's placed where he can hurt us? and he gets none, and even his family gets none, if he's in an SUV in Afghanistan? I've thought long and hard about it and decided that once someone has clearly identified himself as the enemy, it doesn't matter what soil is under his feet. BUT I understand your point of view too. A bank robber who shoots at a cop gives up his due process, and need not expect that the bullet that gets him will pause to read him his rights. Okay, if they catch this guy in bed and cuff him and take him out of his domicile, we gotta give him due process. If he resists in any way at all, however, well, gosh, we're at war, aren't we.
