What Happened to Breaking News?

Am I the only one having this problem, or are the boxes on the left side of the screen turned off for everyone? I couldn't find any mention of it in the forum. It makes FR much harder to read.

I haven't a clue.
I know John was working on the server last night. I also know, in the past, the sidebars gave come and gone mysteriously. There is NO current plan to do away with the sidebars.
We're all going to have to wait for Jim or John to tell us what's happening.

I started noticing weird things some time ago. First, the words "cheese" and "moose" kept coming up, then this crazy "I Am A Bad American" post kept coming up over and over and over, and this picture of a tourist in aviator shades, and...
