What Happened to Breaking News?

Am I the only one having this problem, or are the boxes on the left side of the screen turned off for everyone? I couldn't find any mention of it in the forum. It makes FR much harder to read.

You can tell the number of "newbies" on the site just by looking at this thread. FYI, people, the Sidebars have "disappeared" before when Management needed to tinker with the site. I believe parts of FR are actually located on separate servers which take care of the processing needed for their maintenance.

Could be any of a number of reasons why, but I think you'll see 'em back before too long.

Anybody remember the OLD FR? For a long time Matt Drudge inluded a link to the so-called "Whitewater" topic on FR, that soon became the ONLY "topic" that ever got any traffic.

Then one day in a fit of pique after he got lambasted on FR for some slight real or imagined, the link was removed.

The result was exactly what you see here: Ten threads on "Why did Drudge remove the link to FR!!!"

Some people even claimed that without the link from Drudge's site, they would not be able to find FR ever again!
