Vanity: I was there when the Diamondbacks Made History!!! Were any of you there ???
Me ^ | November 5, 2001 | RooRoobird14, Insane Diamondbacks Fan!!!

If you thought it was an exciting series on TV, you can't even imagine what it's like to actually be there at the game. Hubby and I were there for both games six and seven, and it was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

Only two things would have made Game 7 better:

(1) NOT having McQueeg throw out the first pitch. That was a Defcon Delta BARF ALERT as far as I'm concerned!!

(2) Roger Clemens NOT going completely psycho like he sometimes does. Hubby and I were hoping he'd be hauled off in a straight jacket and muzzle like Hannibal Lecter--LOLOLOLOLOL!!!

If you weren't there at the game, don't worry, I screamed enough for all of you!!! Happy "World Champion Monday" to all of you!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!

That was a great series and a great game last night. The only thing I'm wondering though is why the Yankees didn't put the infield back in double play depth after the bases were loaded. If they did that, then I have to think that the game winning hit would have been caught and since it was so short they couldn't have scored on a sacrifice.

An AP report this morning says that a team from Afghanistan, the "Taliban Towelheads", has challenged the Diamondbacks to a best of 7 series to be played in their new Taliban "Crater Stadium" where Kabul used to be.

The "Towelheads" mascot, "Camel Dung" and the Diamondback's "Rattler" will face off in a battle to the death prior to Game One. The odds-makers in Vegas have the Rattler as a "Lock".

Fans can order their tickets through "CaveMaster" but are urged to carefully inspect any tickets received through the mail.

B-52's are scheduled to drop "fireworks" after each Diamondback homerun. President George W. Bush will throw out the ceremonial first pitch which will be attached to a Cruise Missile.

I'm pretty sure there were lots of folks who had suffered defeat by the Yankees and were cheering for the D-Backs!!

Joe Garagiola, Sr was interviewed by the local stations after the game (his son is D-backs Management) and he said its gonna be great listening to the media call the D-backs a group of seasoned veterans now, instead of just a bunch of "old guys!" LOL!!

Hi lonestar!! As of this morning, the only "incident" reported in the post-game revelry was some drunk chick falling off the balcony at a sports bar.

I'm proud to say that the Diamondbacks crowd--both inside the stadium & those watching the game outside the stadium on Jumbotron--were well-behaved and simply giddy with delight. We have our share of scumbags in Phoenix, but thankfully they all stayed away from the game last night.

Hi Irma--yes, we were there for both games 6 and 7--it was a once-in-a-lifetime thrill!!!

Hubby and I were in the depths of despair at the start of the bottom of the 9th inning. We saw games 4 and 5 replaying themselves before our eyes and I literally felt sick to my stomach (LOL).

To go from that despair to winning was absolutely exhilerating. Nobody left the stadium for at least 30 minutes after the game. We all stood on our seats shaking our pom poms like maniacs to rhythmn of the music. It was an absolutely awesome spectacle to see and hear.

This morning my arms are sore from the non-stop pompom waving, and I'm completely hoarse from screaming two nights in a row. LOL!

I left after the eighth to beat traffic.

For the life of me, I CANNOT understand why a person would go to the ballpark for an event of this magnitude, and LEAVE EARLY to beat traffic?? I attend the Jaguars NFL games, and I have NEVER LEFT until the clock reads: 0:00. If I wanted to leave early, I would just stay home.

Are you NUCKIN' FUTS??

You could have saved a lot of bucks, and not had to second guess your decision to leave early and miss the ultimate excitement of the game winner FOREVER!!

Well, this IS America, and you are free to do whatever your heart desires, so far be it for me to give you grief - you missed the best part, and that is grief enough!!

Luis Gonzales is a Freeper??? Really? OUTSTANDING!!!! I liked him before, but the fact that he's a Freeper makes him even more wonderful.

To Gonzo: Your fans love you, and we're so proud of you and the team!!! I will be there for the parade on Wednesday--wouldn't miss it!!!

I hate to say that my modest prediction that the Arizona serpents would win it was right, but the Snakes bit the Yanks and did it big time! They outscored, outplayed and out thunk the evil Steinbrenner's Blue Zone invaders. Wheee!

The throbbing pom-pom scene was pure high voltage electricty--it's hard to describe the adrenaline rush of actually being there and being a part of it.

Yes, of course I will be at the parade!! I'm a "broken glass Republican" as well as being a "broken glass Diamondbacks fan." LOL!

Now surfer, why did you have to spoil the joy for me? The down side of the Series ending is having to start paying attention to the pathetic Arizona Cardinals...... (LOL)

First, there was NO RIOTING--zero, zip, nada. The Yankees must have hired the Taliban as their PR firm (LOL).

Second, attendance was about 49,500 inside the stadium. There was at least 50,000 more people milling around outside the stadium during the game. The streets were blocked off and people could set up chairs to watch the game on jumbotrons. There were even three guys who set up an easy chair, couch and coffee table right out there on Jackson street--LOL!

Yeah, I know. I actually know our FR Luis and HE IS A GREAT FReeper and PATRIOT!

I found myself cheering for his (FR's Luis) American spirit to reach through to the baseball player, Luis, and it did!!!
