If you thought it was an exciting series on TV, you can't even imagine what it's like to actually be there at the game. Hubby and I were there for both games six and seven, and it was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!
Only two things would have made Game 7 better:
(1) NOT having McQueeg throw out the first pitch. That was a Defcon Delta BARF ALERT as far as I'm concerned!!
(2) Roger Clemens NOT going completely psycho like he sometimes does. Hubby and I were hoping he'd be hauled off in a straight jacket and muzzle like Hannibal Lecter--LOLOLOLOLOL!!!
If you weren't there at the game, don't worry, I screamed enough for all of you!!! Happy "World Champion Monday" to all of you!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!

I was asleep
I do not get too excited watching 18 men being paid millions of dollars a year to chase a ball in taxpayer subsidized stadiums. Add to the fact that only a tiny percentage of the players actually grew up or lived in the city they are "playing for". But it is entrainment, to each his/her own.

????????????
What's a diamondback?
To: RooRoobird14
We watched it at home on our big screen and cheered ourselves silly! What a FANtastic show! As for McQueeg, luckily, I missed that because they didn't show it on national TV!! Maybe they figured he'd had enough face time on camera! Heh, heh!
And how 'bout that stealth bomber?!?!? Did you see or hear it coming?

Hi Dittomom--the stealth bomber flying overhead was simply jaw-dropping. That plane is HUGE--the size of it doesn't really come across on TV.
When that thing flew over BOB, everyone in the stadium looked up and was practically stunned--it was like the mothership from "Close Encounters" had just buzzed us.
It does my heart good to know those stealth bombers are flying over Afghanistan-LOLOLOLOL.

Hi RooRoobird! It was a great game.
Gotta question for ya. Any idea why they didn't close the roof when it started to rain?

Were you there to sing New York New York, or to take the phone call from Martin Sheen?

Hi, Susangirl. The rain actually looked worse than it was. It was just a very fine drizzle-- nobody really got wet from it. I think if the rain had come down any harder, they would have closed the roof.
It was a BEAUTIFUL NIGHT, weather-wise, game-wise.

This title acknowledges just how momentous it is to beat OR it acknowledges that this was a FIRST World Series win for the four year team D'BACKS!

My wife and I watched with tears in our eyes. One of our friends was playing for the Diamondbacks. This was his first year with them and his 15 year in the majors. I think last night made up for all those years of losing in Chicago.

LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!
Actually, when the Diamondbacks humiliated the Snakes humiliated the Yankees in game six, the PA system started playing the first few measures of "New York, New York." Then there was this loud "needle dragged across the record" sound, and then "Celebrate" started up. It was a a great, fun jab at the Yankees.
Predictably, bitter Yankee fans complained loudly to the press about how "mean" it was for us to do this. I LOVED Jerry Colangelo's response when the press questioned him about it: "If they didn't like it, the hell with them" LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!

I just re-read the first sentence in my last post & it makes no sense. What I meant was
"When the snakes humiliated the Yankees in Game 6"(Sorry--we didn't get home from the game until after midnight last night--the only thing that's keeping me awake right now is adrenaline and caffein-LOLOLOLOLOL)

The Rocket didn't implode on himself for once (dang). We were thinking he'd pull his usual psycho maniac cr*p and start pitching at players out of frustration.
Clemens did, however, get the biggest, loudest round of booing by far--LOLOLOLOLOL!!!
To: RooRoobird14
I watched. I missed McCain so it was a nice night. I had planned to root for the Yankees but found myself pulling for the D'backs from game one. As an Astros fan, I was pulling for Gonzales.
Don't be too hard on Clemens. Apparently for a ball-player, he's a workaholic and instilled that work-ethic in Schilling.
What I really enjoyed about the series was not being emotionally involved with either team and just enjoying it all. I only watch baseball during the World Series.
Congratulations! Haven't heard the morning news but assume people out there didn't burn the town down. When the Rockets won the basketball championship, not one car or building in Houston was burned. Not even one rock was thrown. I've never understood why "losers" who have nothing to do with anything, riot after a win they didn't contribute to.

No one burned the town down. Fans were well behaved. Just a few very minor incidents. A reveler fell from a second story balcony at one of the bars. Mace was used at one point because crowds were pushing too much near a police barricade. That's all I heard.
It's the very first professional championship for this young state! We realize the Yanks gotta quite a few more rings under their belts!

Is your friend Mark Grace? He seems like a wonderful guy.
