Question 1: Who / where are these various people who are communicating who supposedly know of the imminent attack(s)?

Question 2: Why don't we grab them in the night, and ask them politely (or otherwise) what is planned?

With proper attention to human intelligence resources over the last decade, we would have these weasels infiltrated and not have to rely on intercepts of signal communication.

Let's hope the lesson is learned, once and for all.

Ah, the joys of living in a target rich environment.

Meanwhile, how do you all vote on whether we should
A. Send some bunker busters into the caves and probably kill bin Laden without much American loss of life, but never know for sure,
or
B. Send the Special Forces into the handful of caves we are down to into hand to hand battles against bin Laden's most loyal defenders and into tunnels that are most likely bobby trapped. We would have to trade an uncertain number of good American lives to bring back the head of bin Laden. However, it would prove he was gone, and would give a shot in the arm and a definitive victory to our side.

What is the Muslim reaction to a dead bin Laden? Make them more upset and make him a martyr? Or take some of the wind out of their sails?

Wait a minute - this recent alert was said by the administration to be based on "human intelligence" - not electronic surveillance. Am I the only one who heard that?

>>They added that they had believed an attack was imminent when they issued the Oct. 10th warning, but that it was delayed or prevented<<

Don't these crybabies get it? We took extra caution, nothing happened.
Isn't that a GOOD thing?

Were their plans thwarted? Was it a red herring?
We may never know this side of the veil.

As long as they keep people on their toes I've got no problems here.
It's when the sheeple start hitting the snooze button that we need to worry.

Ever vigilant, ever hopeful.

Just look at how people are reacting to the Anthrax scare and you realize that there doesnt even have to be an attack. All they have to do is get on a phone they know is tapped and talk about some ficticious attack and it will paralyze the country.

The House has already run for cover once, and are already making plans to convene at a military base in D.C. if needed. Here in Atlanta, a HS was evacuated because one kid had the flu. And a plane was evacuated because someone drops a greeting card and colored glitter falls out. Is this the same country with nerves of steel that fought and won WWII?? Hardly! More people die in car wrecks in a single day than have contracted any form of anthrax, but if you didnt know any better, you wouldve thought we were hit by the plague with thousands dead. Maybe its just media overhype.

Sorry, Ill stop venting.

The source(s), human and gadgetry. For President Bush to place the highest alert status, the human source has to be a "reliably proven" source. I suspect that the gadgetry confirmed the information provided by the human source.

It's difficult to determine what we are doing in the background. I assume we are doing undisclosed deeds. We only see clips of the dirt bombings in Afganistan. And we hear of thousands of arrests or detainees both here and abroad.

Meantime, Bush and Blair insist that we are not at war with Islam. Yet I haven't witnessed any leader of any Islamic country say we aren't...and their silence is deafening.

I get it. Many here get it. Many all about get it. We can only pray that Bush and Blair have or will get it. Perhaps they do and are somehow still in denial. Or maybe they are just playing a game of cat and mouse. Yet, I fear they are in denial.

Yes, we can end terrorism, and all these so called overheard threats of terrorism. But we will not do it by bombing dirt in Afghanistan. What it will take is a redneck with brass balls...and unfortunately, of those don't stand a chance of ever getting elected.

If we don't handle this proper, we could end up like Israel, where terrorism(murder of innocent men women and children) is a fact of life courtesy of political correctedness.

The FBI, however, said in its alert that authorities had not yet corroborated the information but decided to issue a warning. The warning was sent Wednesday to law enforcement agencies in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Montana and Idaho.

Al Qaeda intercepts were interpreted as extraordinarily clear signals of potential danger in part because of the urgent and serious tone of the conversations. Officials said the terrorist operatives were overheard talking about an operation that would be even bigger than the Sept. 11 hijackings. Officials said they intercepted several of these conversations between Al Qaeda members in several countries.

Could be chemical, biological, or nuclear.

Because of these kinds of threats, I have today penned the following:

A Primer in How to Protect Your Family From Nuclear Terrorism

They must as quickly as possible deport all Muslim men between 15 and 50 who are NOT U.S. CITIZENS. It only takes the WILL to do it because they do not have any absolute right to be here.

If they aren't here, it's hard for them to harm us.
