Ah, the joys of living in a target rich environment.

Meanwhile, how do you all vote on whether we should
A. Send some bunker busters into the caves and probably kill bin Laden without much American loss of life, but never know for sure,
or
B. Send the Special Forces into the handful of caves we are down to into hand to hand battles against bin Laden's most loyal defenders and into tunnels that are most likely bobby trapped. We would have to trade an uncertain number of good American lives to bring back the head of bin Laden. However, it would prove he was gone, and would give a shot in the arm and a definitive victory to our side.

What is the Muslim reaction to a dead bin Laden? Make them more upset and make him a martyr? Or take some of the wind out of their sails?

I vote for A. We'll eventually find out if we got him by his absence and won't have paid a huge price for his demise. I think he is less able to be a hero to his followers if his fate is unknown. His head on a platter would be a cause celebe for the barbarians who believe in him.

A dead bin Laden is definitely a better outcome than one captured and held for trial. It would destabilize governments. It cannot be permitted to happen.

Bin Laden may, however, be more valuable to us alive than dead, if it keeps world opinion generally on our side AND we are able to prevent further acts of terrorism.

We're barely handling the anthrax now, even though it has killed less people than died on Interstate 10 today.

The real prize in those caves is not bin ladin's head but rather every piece of paper with a name and phone number written down on it and every computer disk. My own first option: Fry the idiots inside their caves with neutron bombs, and then walk in there like Captain Marvel, pick up the papers and computer disks, and walk out and, if there's anything recognizable left of bin laden, feed it to the pigs and televise same to the muslim world.

Forget nation building in the aftermath of our retaliation.....I say we move in and take over the whole damned country until we find Bin Laden and until we eliminate any and all of his followers (our enemies). Our borders should be immediately closed to any and all (I believe that has been done on the surface...but not in reality). Past that, I say let the bombing continue. I'm with Reagan when he jokingly said to a live mike 'the bombing starts in ten minutes'.... Peace Lapcat

I vote for A. Let him die like a dog, cowering in his lair. Works for me.

I don't think bin-Laden is that important, frankly. He is not the head of the snake- he's only the rattle.
