Feds -CA. Bridge Threat Credibility 'Cannot Be Determined'
MSNBC ^ | November 1, 2001 | Pete Williams

Posted on 11/01/2001 4:42:32 PM PST by umbra

An FBI official told NBC the warning Davis announced was based on an FBI bulletin sent out only to law enforcement officals and not intended for the public.

The FBI did not know Davis was going to release the information, NBC's Pete Williams reported.

Shortly after the governor's warning, the Justice Department released a copy of the warning, which said the FBI had "uncorroborated information" that the terrorists were planning the attacks.

Gov. Davis should be in custody right now.

And I think the charge would be "inciting mass panic", a felony.

The lengths "Goobernor" Davis will sink to get his 15 seconds in the spotlight is distressing.

Would that stop some of the hysteria if Grey Davis was dragged to the greybar hotel kicking and screaming all the way?

Add another charge of necrophilia for playing with his dead corpse of a political career.

The Republicans can win the governorship back here in CA if they can field a candidate who can fog a mirror. It wouldn't take much to defeat Davis, but the Republican party has a long history of fielding unelectable candidates here.

This hype sounds like a lamebrained idea of Chris Lehane. Is he still on Grayouts payroll?

One of the things terrorism has going for it is the "fog" that goes along with their activities. Ninety-nine out of a hundred rumors like this will be determined to be without credibility.

But beware of that hundredth.

NBC also reported information passed on in the past few weeks about potential attacks in Boston, Atlanta and Richmond, Virigina-this is not the first time.

Supposedly he's not on the payroll anymore, but that doesn't mean that he didn't provide free advice.

Makes you wonder if the guy isn't incompetent or has dementia.

It's bad enough that Davis made no plans for California's increasing electrical needs during a population boom.
Then he drains the state budget to correct his idiocy, and now he's releasing confidential information about national security.

This guy is crackers and needs to be impeached!

Bush and Rumsfeld have been looking for an opportunity to plug the leaks. And don't you believe it's about time to make an example of these security slackards?

Gov. Doofus would be an excellent place to start. A federal warrant for his arrest on security breaches would take some of the wind out of his overblown sails...

I don't know about locking him up, but this should be one of the many factors that keep him out of political office the rest of his life. What a blithering idiot!
