The last I heard the terrorists were instructed to kill all of us Americans, how does a bridge fulfill that order from Binnie the thug?

It's common knowledge & well advertised so that enemies wouldn't target the bridge in the first place and people in the area can live in comfort knowing that any attempt to blow up the bridge is destined to be futile. Basically, the center of the bridge is hollow and can be replaced / reconnected with floating cranes in short order.

Davis made this crap up, so he could get in on some facetime and put his sagging poll numbers up.

MSNBC's Brian Williams appeared to go to great lengths in order to not burst out laughing after Davis made his announcement.

Governor Red Davis said they were going to bomb them during rush hour. During rush hour those bridges are bumper to bumper.

If they bomb a Bridge near LA people may not get to the Oscars. Life would not be worth living.

They would probably attack during rush hour. Most of these bridges are bumper-to-bumper during morning rush hour. I hope the coast guard is protecting against boats trying to blowup the bridge supports in the water. The golden gate bridge is held up by two main towers with large underwater piers.

First the skies, then the buildings, then the mails, then the transportation.....when we finally wake up hopefully it will not be too late for a few well placed tactical nukes.

If one believes in hidden messages, then one would double the guards on our dams!

There you've hit on the one area where the southwest is particularly and realistically vulnerable. That one possible threat has been the main one(s) I'm concerned about, personally, and have taken steps to address that possibility.

The Muslims want to get rid of anything that is good and beautiful and makes people happy.

Fox checked with the FBI and reported that the FBI does not deem the threats to be as credible as Davis is claiming.

If you format this in some fancy HTML, many here will not only read this, but will probably find a deeper hidden truth in your question :)

I know, you should watch what you say. Geez, next thing you know, someone will suggest the Seattle Space Needle, or the Epcot Center, or the Sears Tower, or...What? What's everybody looking at?

Anyone remember the story of Joshua and Jericho? Wonder what effect a joyful sound unto the Lord, as such, Big Mach or thereabouts, would have on the Kaaba?

Would ya look at THIS!

Watchout for cement trucks on Bridges

I was thinking about fuel trucks and attacks on the CA bridges, etc. It seems to me the best vehicle for a terrorist truck attack would be one of the those large cement mixers. You put the stuff in the barrel, mix it up. drive wherever you want. No one is looking for cement trucks. Just set it off when you get to the target. It would hold about as much as 50, 55 gallon drums and no tedious hand mixing.

Man, if they take out the Golden Gate, and I can't get to my wine taste-off in Marin this weekend, I'm gonna be, like, seriously pissed, man...

The point is moot now anyway, its not going to happen. If the terrorists were going to blow any bridges up their cover has been blown. Also its simply too hard to blow up a bridge, you cant do it with a truck bomb, the terrorists would have to preposition explosives on certain parts of the bridge. There are people guarding these bridges. If this is a credibal threat it is most likely being used to divert resources away from the real targets if there are any.

Why didn't you post this on one of the bridge threads?

I welcome the chance to get in at post 36 instead of post 401...
