[history]
A pair of new polls yesterday showed Democrat Mark R. Warner strengthening his lead over Republican Mark L. Earley in the race for the Virginia governorship.
Mason-Dixon Political/Media Research Inc. put Warner in front by 6 percentage points, with 48 percent to 42 percent for Earley. Libertarian William Redpath had 1 percent, and 9 percent were undecided.

If freepers ever thought a GOP had any shot of winning N.J. they're mistaken.Yeah, I know.
Just like we were mistaken if we thought Schundler could ever win the primary...
... or the mayoral elections of Jersey City...
... or if we ever thought Schumer could defeat D'Amato...
... or Whitman could possibly overcome a 9-point deficit in the polls.
Gee, thanks SO MUCH for helping us out here with your wisdom. By the way, this is a thread about the election in VA. It's just a little south of NJ.

Its kind of sad that you turn on me as soon as you see something that you don't agree with. Just so you know, to be precise, I forgot my username. Is that an impeachable offense? Get real.
To: kanaell
Schundler and Reagan were once Democraps. But they got over that pretty easily. Earley, apparently, hasn't. If Schundler were running in VA, I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, he isn't.

a Lefty Newbie TROLL who fools ABSOLUTELY no one I'm sorry, but this is really offensive. I worked for Reagan's campaign in '84. I volunteered for North's campaign. I've been a Republican all my life; its pretty disgusting that you need to accuse me of being a "lefty troll" just because your candidate is a RINO.
To: freeperforpresident; Mudboy Slim
(Mudboy is probably correct)
Hi lefty...how ya doin.

"In every published poll of the Virginia campaign, Warner has led Earley, though the high-tech millionaire's advantage on occasion has been statistically insignificant - within the margin of error, suggesting the contest was a tie" Thank goodness...this isn't as bad as it seems.
Mud, relieve the suspense, whom do you think will end up winning? (and since I recently moved to Ga. - I'll keep ya filled in on what's happening down here.)

I've been a Republican all my life; Yes, and Mark Warner is a fiscal conservative...NOT!
Come on here spewing your swill with those of us working our butts off to fight the liberals and you'd better expect to be attacked.
You drew the first blood by saying "Earley deserves to lose," -- Don't expect us to believe you've been lurking but forgot your screenname and/or password. It's simple enough to email JR and get it sent to you.
If you'd really been lurking, you'd have known that garbage like your first post would be pounced on.
Nice try lib. Well no, actually it wasn't even that nice.
To: Coop
No, I think Schundler really does have a good chance. As you show, he's done it every time before, most notably in the primary against Franks. Schundler supporters are much more committed than McGreevey's.
It would be nice if W. could campaign in NJ; that's what Klinton would be doing at this time. It really irks me that we "have" to be bipartisan while the RATS can do anything, anytime.
To: mike2right
I'm sorry, but I've reported you for abuse. I never claimed Warner was a "fiscal conservative," and you know that. Your sole problem with me is that I recognizeas any sensible person wouldthat Earley's an abysmal candidate who's run an abysmal campaign. Virginia is one of the most conservative states around. Gilmore would be winning in a landslide. Allen would be winning in a landslide. But Earley's done nothing. And he's losing. Shoot the messenger if you like, but I'm going to ignore your posts from now on. I feel no reason to converse with people who cannot acknowledge their own failure.
To: Coop
Thanks. Its nice to see that they're still some hospitable people around. In the end, I guess I might have to hold my nose and vote Earley, but I'm having a hard time considering the "one gun a month" law a mere "screw up." I don't know.
To: freeperforpresident; Coop; Mudboy Slim
I'm sorry, but I've reported you for abuse. Fine, the election is in five days and I don't have time to deal with you.
Hey Coop, and Mud - will you boys visit me in FRprison?
To: freeperforpresident
"...its pretty disgusting..." Yes it is...going from working for Ronaldus Maximus to working for the KlintonKlone, Mark Warner!! So, Lefty, what was yer Screen Name previously?! Let me know and I'll be glad to make a few calls and get your password back to you via FReepMail and you can post as someone other than a Newbie/Long-Time Lurker...fair enuff?!

"I'm sorry, but I've reported you for abuse." OOO-OOO-OOO...Report me, report me!! Dont fergit 'bout me!!
LOL...MUD
To: mike2right
"...will you boys visit me in FRprison?" LOL...I'll put in a good word with Governor Earley and he'll pardon you, my FRiend.
Keep up the good work...MUD

"...after his post #47, perhaps not..." I'm sorry, but this is really offensive. I worked for Mondale's campaign in '84. I volunteered for Beyer's campaign. I've been a DemocRAT all my life; its pretty disgusting that you need to accuse me of being a "Righty troll" just because your candidate is a DINO.
SHEEEESH, Jeff...how gullible are you?!
LOL and FReegards...MUD
To: freeperforpresident
because your candidate is a RINO.Instead of just calling Earley names, why not outline your grievances with him? Perhaps then you'll have some credibility, but right now to me you're screaming "liberal troll!"
And if you're so deadset against RINO (a.k.a. liberal Pubbies), then you must be furious that a true liberal has a real chance to sit in your governor's mansion.
