A pair of new polls yesterday showed Democrat Mark R. Warner strengthening his lead over Republican Mark L. Earley in the race for the Virginia governorship.
Mason-Dixon Political/Media Research Inc. put Warner in front by 6 percentage points, with 48 percent to 42 percent for Earley. Libertarian William Redpath had 1 percent, and 9 percent were undecided.

That's what it will all come down to. That and the right alignment of the stars. Even though this isn't good news, we could still win.
- A swing through by the President would help,
- The NRA letter should help (and not be reflected in these polls),
- Surely the weather eventually has to turn and we'll get some rain.
- The GOTV effort should help.
- The listing of party affiliation on the ballot should help.
There are a lot of factors and still a lot of things we can do to help.
As for myself, I'm thinking it may be time to sacrifice a few live chickens...

Don't know what the heck you've been reading. Earley is pro life. He's for tax CUTS. Despite his screw up years ago with the one gun/month, he's pro 2nd Amendment with two subsequent NRA endorsements and an endorsement from the LEAA calling out his strong support for the right of self defense.
There is a huge difference in this election! Get your whiny rear end down to the booth and pull the lever for Earley.

Even IF Warner wins and drags Kaine along with him, we'll have Jerry Kilgore as Attorney General. We'll also have an almost veto proof majority in the House (they stuck w/Gilmore by the way), we'll still have the state senate, two U.S. Senators and 7 out of 11 congresscritters, with one very GOP leaning and endorsing Indy.
That's hardly a liberal sinkhole.
