Just got back from Trick or Treating with the kids so how was your Halloween?
I wasn't going to let the bad men spoil my 4 year olds Halloween as Bin Laden wanted to. Instead we went out and walked up and down the streets going to those houses with lights on. There were other kids out, but everywhere it seemed to be different. Not as many kids trick or treating like normal. Many houses were dark. It just didn't seem like the Halloween of recent years. Yes I now have lots of candy. Hee Hee Hee!So how was your Halloween with the alert warnings?

How's my Halloween? I'm "stuck" with a huge bag of candy due to no young'uns coming by. What to do, what to do....

I'm new to this neighborhood and the people here told me to expect 100. I purchased goodies accordingly. About 30 showed up. The last four kids got about a pound of candy each. They were sooooo happy.

Usually we have 300 kids and cars with parents jam the street..
Tonight maybe 25 kids and no cars.

I had so many trick or treaters at my door ... I almost ran out of razor blades (/joking off)

My kids racked up. We went to a neighborhood (we live on a ridge) and I stayed and watched for the little Skittle-robbers at the house. We were on a cul-de-sac so we didn't get many. Mostly older kids who knew the teen at the house.
The only problem came at school. A student's mother came to read Harry Potter to my daughter's 2nd grade class. My daughter was upset because she knows she's not supposed to read HP (mom is an animal rights fruitcake and it has animal sacrifice, I think it's inappropriate for school). Her teacher gave her some books to read instead.

I got home just after dark, and as I walked from my driveway to my front door, I was watched every moment by a tall guy standing on the edge of my yard in a black hooded robe, with a skull face, holding a scythe.
It was a nice costume.
Or at least I *HOPE* it was a costume!

Looked to be 2/3 of our usual number. I expected to see more since both Savannah, GA malls cancelled their Halloween candy giveaways. One thing I noticed was that the kids and their parents were in larger packs. Also, a lot of kids came accompanied by 3 or 4 adults instead of one. Neighborhood deputies much more vigilant as well, rode through twice as often as they usually do on Halloween.

There are about 4 houses on our street that are dark..We had candy for about 100 and the 8 that have showed up, so far, are happy little campers!
I should probably ship the left-overs to Afganistan...nahhh, just joking...we're gonna eat it!

Same thing here, my little girl was getting 8 or 9 pieces of candy. I think last year she was lucky if they gave her 2 or 3. It was strange.

My daughter and I passed out candy at my husband's store in a local mall. The number of children trick-or-treating was way down. Last year we gave out roughly 2000 pieces of candy; this year I would estimate only 300-500. At 7:30 the mall cleared out. It was a rather strange night. Even those who were there and participating in trick-or-treating didn't seem to be quite with it.

I made plans to give away little airplane size bottles of Cuervo Tequila to the kids. That way if no one shows up....

About sunset I strolled down the street in order to get past the trees in the neighborhood and watched the moon rise. What a site to behold. My older daughter took my son to the fire department sponsored haunted house and freed me up to browse the internet! No trick or treaters came by the house. 'Guess they listed to Jesse! |
