Can you believe it has only been 3 years? I assume I had a busy life, but I can't seem to remember what I did BEFORE FreeRepublic!
Heads up, fellow MFJ Texans!

I was there with InterestingTimes. I remember 'OWK', 'M', and 'Clinton is a Liar'. Bob Barr was my Congressman at the time and I couldn't feel prouder. It was an amazing day but I couldn't help feeling that my face would be in some FBI database from that day forward. I also liked the dog that was wearing an "Impeach Buddy" sign.

Are you surfer Glen? I have a pic of me, Drudge, the top of your head & your name tag!

I also liked the dog that was wearing an "Impeach Buddy" sign.I remember that dog... her name was Lilly, and she also would fetch a rubber cigar!

I arrived at 8 am to help anavyvet set up and I carried one of BufordP's huge Clinton signs with the Red circle and slash through his face. I still have that sign!!
I still would like to have a copy of that C-span tape!!

What a great weekend! I went downstairs to the lobby of the Premier hotel and was amazed to find the large assortment of Freepers there. Met Drudge, Lucianne and Rejoyce. The speakers were great and the whole thing was uplifting.

I flew in from Atlanta, spent the day there and flew out that evening. It was quite a blast seeing all the speakers.

There. Hey, weren't you Hank then? I think you may have been the sweetie who helped me out with a drink or two when my pocket was temporarily empty (from buying other drinks:) I remember a bunch of us jumping into Bob J's rental van and driving forever to find a friggin coffee shop open around midnight.
I got to fly out with Clinton's a liar, Freedom Rocks (Tony, is that your screen name?) Jimrob and Chrisrob.
I remember Jimrob leading the flag procession around the crowd. It was so cool to meet Freepers in person. We stayed in that hotel right across the street from the Watergate. There were many, many of us. I was so amazed. After the rally (in front of the Washington Monument)we cleaned up after ourselves - down to the last cigarete butt. No kidding! A perfect couple of days.

I was NOT there, but you are right -- it was the true birth of FreeRepublic and made me a proud participant in this home of Jim Robinson's (even more than I had been already).
I watched the C-SPAN coverage with great pride and tears in my eyes. I heard Alan Keyes for the first time and found the political person who echoed every thought I had ever had on the Republic and its future.
I "met" Peter Kessler when he made a statement that all "should be able" to be there ... after I replied with a "some of us CANNOT" -- and he kindly sent me a tape of the occasion.
We were different then -- fresh and brave (we still are) ... just not so "fresh".
Happy Anniversary to FR!

It was such a great coming-together...just knowing others felt the same way about the filthy, corrupt KLINTOONS. It was so uplifting! bilbo and bilbo's wife

I remember waiting to board an elevator, and you stepped out. You had that big "OWK" on your nametag. As you passed through, people were pointing and saying, "Oooh, that's OWK"...

As you passed through, people were pointing and saying, "Oooh, that's OWK"... And I still allow myself the luxury of thinking that most of them meant it in a "good" way... ;^]

My daughter and I were there carrying the flag of Minnesota. It was a defining point in my daughter's political views.
I think the high point for me was the gathering in the evening and some of the informal talks by Gary Aldrich and others.
Original screen name, every day a lurker, seldom a poster. Libertarian through and through.

Truly a memorable day. Alot of excellent speakers & just plain old good folk. This is actually where I first met the band Poker Face & have been a loyal fan ever since. Funny that I had to travel to DC to find the coolest pro-America rock band from my own backyard.
The band still has pictures up on their website from that day. Check out Drudge dancing on stage.

I carried one of the Colorado State flags (there were two; the man carrying the other one wasn't from Colorado; I'm from Denver).
It was my first trip to D.C. I had just discovered FR a couple of weeks before MFJ.
It was a weekend that I will never forget; one of the greatest weekends of my life.

I couldn't make it, but I taped it from C-SPAN. I also remember that we had a lot of trouble on the website with disruptors galore. I think toiletman was one of them.
