It's been exactly three years since the Free Republic March for Justice was held on the Mall in Washington D.C., an event that will never be forgotten by those who were there and was directly responsible for inspiring the House Judiciary Committee to start impeachment proceedings agains Bill Clinton.
If you were there, sign in here and let everyone know how much it meant to you and a favorite memory of that historic day in the life of FreeRepublic and the United States of America

The March for Justice was one of the best events I ever attended. I sold t-shirts and donated to FR.
Gads, I should really tell you more details...
To: Fred Mertz
Thanks for the flag, Fred. That entire weekend is a blur for me (as well as the two weeks leading up to it)! LOL
It's hard to believe that it's been three years, then again it seems like 10. That day has forever changed my life, as that is the day I met Alan Keyes, his wife and his Chief of Staff for the very first time.
Rush told me on his radio show that I wouldn't be working at that "major motion picture studio" for long -- and he was right. It took a little over three months for me to give my notice! LOL Rush really is right!
If you'll tell some of your stories, I'll tell SOME of mine! hehe

I met Matt Drudge at the MFJ. He was really cool back then. I also met chuck allen, I think.
To: Fred Mertz
That's it for the "Gads, I should really tell you more details..."???
LOL! And here I was looking for some supercalifragilisticexpyalidocious stories!
To: Fred Mertz; chuck allen; AppyPappy; Freedom Rocks...
I KNOW I met you and AppyPappy at the MFJ -- but the first time I remember meeting M/M chuck allen was at the Judgment Day Rally -- well, actually in the bar at the hotel where chuck and FreedomRocks... were fighting over those famous FRench FRies! LOL

Yes, it's all coming back to me as I sit here and try to recall the events of three years ago. I even published my first post on FR: "Fred Mertz Goes to Washington".
It was a week later, but you replied. I remember that.
To: Bob J
Hey Bob, whatever happened to Scotsman?
To: connectthedots
Was there. Scared the hell outta me sharing an elevator with Drudge and Trixie. Just nodded politely. Im such a whimp.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could retrieve all of those threads for posterity? I'd love to have the Rush thread when I got through -- and talked to him for a half an hour with my boss staring a hole through me for the first five minutes! LOL
I'd like to have all of the posts with the photos, as well -- AND all of the planning threads for bcjohnson's "How Would He Vote?" ads. That was a stellar time for Free Republic.
I miss bcjohnson.
To: Floratina; Scotsman
Scotsman has very serious family health issues with his parents that he is dealing with like the OUTSTANDING son that he is. God bless him.
Good to see you, girl! Greetings from DC!
To: Clinton's a liar
I remember eating those FRench FRies, Bonaparte had some and invited me to consume some of his. They were indeed tasty.

I will always remember October 31, 1998, the day I became a middle-aged Protester! Flew in from Indiana & had an absolute blast! I was a little apprehensive, wondering what kind of Freeper people I would encounter. (Would they be "extreme", fringe types?) Soon found out they were just like me - patriotic, concerned, principled people who were not satisfied to sit on the side lines & see our country go down the tube. I especially liked the little dog with the "Impeach Buddy" sign!
To: Floratina; Bonaparte; Shethink13
LOL! Were you riding around in shethink13's van with us in the middle of the night trying to give Bonaparte a ride to godonlyknowswhere?
To: Floratina; RightWinger
I met you there, Floratina. And Right Winger too. Remember
To: connectthedots
Does it "count" if Noel & I watched it "Live" on C-Span, with tears coming from our eyes??
Doc
To: Doc On The Bay
Hiya, Doc! That most certainly counts, especially the tears part! Hugs.
To: Floratina; Bonaparte
WAITAMINUTE! This is the FIRST I've heard about Bonaparte's FRench FRies. He's got some 'splainin' to do!
To: Jim Robinson
I remember Submareener had his laptop at the rally and was monitoring FR. The site was subjected to a sustained ping attack that day so there wasn't much to read! I also remember Eschoir getting shouted down when he loudly flapped his gums stageward during the proceedings.
Fred, I remember you and your shirts - regrettably I failed to buy one because I hadda watch funds. You were very gracious, as ever.
To: connectthedots
Signing in....my husband & I attended. It was fantastic! I recall how proud we felt when JimRob & the veterans came marching down the hill from the Washington monument with flags flying high! It was a stunning sight.
Our family recorded the entire event on C-Span. Attending the March for Justice & getting to meet so many other Freepers was fantastic....can't believe it is only 3 years as so much has happened since then. So many more FREEPS...so little time!
Here's to you Mr. Robinson...thank you for creating FR and the March for Justice.
