Rush: If McCain had fought for strong military instead of campaign finance "reform", ...

On his radio show today, Rush noted McCain's public dissing of Bush for not being strong enough in tactics and strategy vs. Afghanistan and the Taliban. Rush said, if McCain had been putting his energy into fighting against military cuts, instead of fighting for anti-GOP campaign finance "reform," maybe we'd be better situated to take out the Taliban fast. And anyway, why is McCain joining Dems like Kerry and Biden in publicly beating up on Bush's prosecution of the war? Folks, he's a camera hog - and realizes that bashing the GOP is his ticket to face time on the networks. FOR A REAL SENATE MAJORITY, THE GOP NEEDS FOUR SEATS - - - one to get them to 50; two more to cancel out DEMS IN DISQUISE McCain and Chafee, and one more to give them a one vote majority over the combined Dems plus McCain and Chafee.

The military services take first time enlistees between the ages of 17 and 34. I'm sure Rush was in that age range at some time in his life.

Your original comment was in the context of serving in or during war. But you know that.

But Rush isn't a military expert, no matter how much he tries to paint himself to be.

I understand better your screen name. Be mindful thta the context of Rush's statements today were between whether Bush should follow McCain's worthless advice or that of the generals that work for (and haven't sold out) this country. Rush came down on the side of the generals, and I think you do too. You are just not brave enough to admit it here.

Perhaps you weren't listening with both ears to Rush today. He didn't presume to tell anyone how to run military operations in Afghanistan. Quite the contrary. He said that Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld were in a much better position to do it than McCain, who has never managed a military operation. He also praised McCain as a war hero. I don't know what wars Bill Kristol, Charles Krauthammer, Chris Dodd and Joe Biden fought in, do you? In fact, I don't know about your military experience either, brainiac.

I think we know that John McCain's a war hero. In case anyone missed it, he had a book ghost written for him in which he reminds everyone that he's a war hero. But there are other war heros, such as Rep. Sam Johnson of Dallas, also a Vietnam POW, who doesn't think a whole lot of McCain. And if you look at U.S. history (you do read, don't you?), you'll realize that except for Washington and Eisenhower, most military generals who became president were either disasters or below average. If I had time I'd walk you through a basic civics lesson, but I don't. You, like most other McCainiacs, are nasty, shallow people.

I put in 22 years active duty and reserve with the Navy. I was a DMG from Navy ROTC in 77, did about 9 years in destroyers and frigates before leaving active duty, was recalled to fight the Battle of the Pentagon in 90 and 91 and ended a Commander. How about you?

One of our local talk radio show hosts, Goyette (sp?) on KFYI had McCain on a couple of nights ago saying to bomb bomb bomb... Then last night he had Col. Hackworth saying that McCain didn't have a clue what he was saying and should just keep quiet. I love it!

If we need an expert on strategy, we should ask an old soldier who captured the enemy - not one who was captured.

Not liking what McCain says is fine. Criticizing him for being a prisoner of war while defending this country is despicable.

If McSHAME is such a war strategist, why did he spend most of his time during vietnam in the Hanoi Hilton giving aid and comfort to the enemy?

What aid and comfort did he give the enemy?

It's absolutely astounding that some here criticaze McCain for being captured while praising Rush who avoided service.

I know I've heard Rush state on his radio show before that he wasn't accepted because of some physical impairment. I don't remember what it was but he was rejected although he did try to enlist.
