Rush: If McCain had fought for strong military instead of campaign finance "reform", ...

On his radio show today, Rush noted McCain's public dissing of Bush for not being strong enough in tactics and strategy vs. Afghanistan and the Taliban. Rush said, if McCain had been putting his energy into fighting against military cuts, instead of fighting for anti-GOP campaign finance "reform," maybe we'd be better situated to take out the Taliban fast. And anyway, why is McCain joining Dems like Kerry and Biden in publicly beating up on Bush's prosecution of the war? Folks, he's a camera hog - and realizes that bashing the GOP is his ticket to face time on the networks. FOR A REAL SENATE MAJORITY, THE GOP NEEDS FOUR SEATS - - - one to get them to 50; two more to cancel out DEMS IN DISQUISE McCain and Chafee, and one more to give them a one vote majority over the combined Dems plus McCain and Chafee.

If Rush was such military strategist then why did he spend the war hiding behind various deferements? Besides, I'm sure that McCain knew that Midway was 7 months after Pearl Harbor, not 11 months.

The choice over where to get the best military advice isn't between McSHAME and Rush Limbaugh (if Rush was even old enough to serve). The choice is between a failed military pilot or the Generals that serve our most honorable president and our country. I spit in McSHAME'S eye.

Like hell, Rush is 50. Conscription ended when he was 22. When he hit the eligible age in 1970 the draft was going full bore.

...if Rush was even old enough to serve...

The military services take first time enlistees between the ages of 17 and 34. I'm sure Rush was in that age range at some time in his life.

McCain is a vindictive and increasingly stupid man. His analysis of the war is moronic. He is everything that was wrong with Vietnam. A politician trying to run the war by fighting the fight our enemy desires and in the process turning the hate of the Afghani people from the Taliban to the United States.

An incredibly dense and duplicitous sob.

McCain is a jerk

Missed Rush today, haven't read the replies yet. HOWEVER, mclame should go WAY FAR AWAY!

Maybe he and Keyes could start a commune.

Spoken as a 2-time Keyes, no-way, no-how EVER mclame supporter!

I don't believe that the Great Keating Senator knows about the private sector. He has been always on the pay of the public sector, and I believe that his father was a public sector employee as well.

Rush spent about a year as SWMSU. His deferement would have ended when he left school. In all honesty I don't care whether he served or not. Not everyone can put up with the physical requirements of military service. But Rush isn't a military expert, no matter how much he tries to paint himself to be. His knowledge of history apparently ain't much better.

McCain would be great if Afghanistan had any SAMs that needed to be intercepted with military aircraft.

Let's face it: McCain bombed children and hospitals. He followed orders, yes. But basically, he was a War Criminal.

Who cares? Vietnam was a bad idea, run badly and ended badly. Yes, if you fought there you suffered for your country. But that doesn't mean that you opinion about today's world matters.

McCain didn't enlist either, his old man shoe horned him in to Annapolis where Johnny rose to the level of his competence, last in the class.

That said, he paid his dues bigtime in the Hilton but that doesn't give him a free pass for the rest of his life. I thank the Lord every day that John McCain is not POTUS.

I bet the Bill Kristol/John McCain partnership has been reactivated. Interesting how this happened right after Kristol wrote his stupid column.

I could be wrong because in all honesty I haven't listened to his program in a couple of years, but I thought I remembered him telling a caller once that he'd had a college deferment.

It always seemed like the tone of his voice indicated that he wished he had gone. I have no idea though.

Does that go for every flier who bombed North Vietnam or just the ones you dislike? You also just described every man who flew a bomber over Germany or Japan in World War II. You gonna call them 'war criminal' to their face?
